Invisibles Background Paper

I was at Michaels a couple of months ago and they had this paper on clearance, I had never seen it and really did not know what it was, but I bought it anyways to try it.  It is white paper, that has a raised glossy pattern on it.  When you put ink or any medium on it the color does not get on the raised part.  I think I like it and have to check and see if they have any left, I only bought two sheets.
On this card I rubbed Distress Ink Wild Honey on it directly from the ink pad.
I cut the paper into about 1/3 and 2/3 and mounted it on a pretty purple background.  I cut the Happy Birthday using my Cricut and glued it to a piece of glossy white paper and then attached it to the purple using small shiny purple brads.

The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, that I punched twice, glued the bottom one down flat and then just glued the center part of the top one so it can look like it is flying.

I glued some Martha Stewart glass beads down the body of the butterfly.

I tried to find a link to the Invisibles paper and then I ran across these, Scrapbook.com click the link and check them out, now  I am going to have to get some of them LOL.  Don't they look cool.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog, if you like what you see I would love to hear your comments or become a follower, that would make me happy!  Thanks again.

Snow in the Desert

Yesterday morning we woke up and here is what we saw when we looked out the window.
This is the view from our back deck.
It looked so pretty.  Not sure if you are familiar with the Accenture Match Play Golf tournament that was wrapping up yesterday, but it is held just to the left of this picture.  I am sure there was golf on the course.
Here are a couple more pictures, there is nothing but desert behind us all the way to the mountains that are a little less then a mile away.  We have lots of wildlife that comes up to our fence and sometimes in our yard.  Coyotes, Havalina, Quail, Deer, Gila Monster and Bob Cats.
Here are a couple of views out our front door.

These mountains rarely get snow.  Unfortunately is was all melted off within a couple hours of taking these pictures.

Happy Birthday Robotz

I made this card for the Jitterbuggin Challenge this week.  Our challenge was to follow the sketch posted, make it a birthday card and add  rickrack somewhere, well it worked out perfect because I needed a birthday card for our grandson who turns 4 this month.
The card is 5 1/2 inches square, I covered it with robot paper that I had in a pack I bought that had boy papers in it.  I cut the robot using the Robotz cartridge at about 3 1/2 inches and shadowed him with a holographic silver paper.  I added the googlie eyes, then thought the rest of his face looked a little plain so I added a small white button for his nose.  I cut the number 4 from the Birthday bash cartridge at about 1/2 inch.

The "happy birthday" is also from Birthday Bash, but instead of cutting it I used my Cri-Kits pens to draw the image.  Now for the rickrack we had to added, I used the rickrack cut on Plantin Schoolbook and welded two pieces together in Design Studio to get the correct size for the card.

For the inside I just added a strip of paper that I edge punched and stamped a sentiment, and added a couple corners.
I hope you like my Robot card, I would be real happy if you leave a comment so I know you have been here :).

Girlie Sparkly High Heel Card

This one has a lot of sparkle. At My Sheri Crafts the challenge theme this week is "All About Girls" well I think this one is pretty girlie!
A while back I bought a pack of DCWV "All Dressed Up" stickers and the high heel reminded me of our granddaughter.  Her birthday is Monday so I made this card for her.  The paper is from the DCWV All Dressed Up paper stack so the sticker matched perfectly.
I made the black frame buy welding a wavy strip across the bottom to put the sentiment on and cut it out of black glitter cardstock.

The inside is very simple with just strips of the outside paper added.
Well thanks for stopping by.  I love reading your comments.

BFF Award..............................

Bobby & Jill have kindly created this award for our blog hopping friends and a couple others.  Thank you, you guys are so wonderful and I am very thrilled to have you as my blogging friends and friends beyond the blog.  I love chatting with you as you well know!  And thanks so much for telling us about the other two blogs for me to follow and get inspired by!

Now you said to pass this award on to one, instantly there was no doubt in my mind who I would pass it to Melissa at Melissa Made.  She is beyond awesome at Copic coloring, but besides that she has been such an inspiration to me with my blog.  If had not been for here I probably would not have a blog.  Plus she spends so much time with "this old broad" getting my posts ready for the blog hops.  AND to top it off she even had me as a guest designer at Crafty Creations for the month of January.  I felt very inspired to be a part o that oiutstanding group.

You go girl......................I award you my BFF Blog Award
You are the most talented greatest blog friend :)

Mojo Monday 177 Card

Since male cards are so hard to make I have been trying to make them when I do a challenge.   The first Monday of the month at Mojo Monday is a contest week.  Here is the sketch that we had to follow.
I twisted it up just a bit, but I do think you can still see the basic sketch.  The button down the right side are brads I made using my i-Top brad maker.  Did you know that there is a cut on Accent Essentials cartridge that is perfect for cutting out and using to cover your brads?  It is kind of nice as that way you don't have to buy all the punches for the different size brads.  The papers are from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean Stack, including the paper covering the brads.  The paisley cut is from Holiday Cakes cartridge.
I think I accomplished making a card that was appropriate to give to a guy, what do you think?
Well thanks for stopping by and I love to read your comments.

For The Love of Everyone --- Blog Hop Day 2

Now our theme is RED HOT, well yesterdays post was red but not necessarily hot, so today I thought I would give you red hot.  If you missed yesterdays post please scroll down.  Same as yesterday I want to give a big thanks to our sponsor Celeste at Thirty One for donating one of her fabulous totes that will be given away randomly from one of the blogs that are participating in the hop.

As soon as our theme red hot was announced I knew I wanted to make somethings using a red chili.  This one is a stamp that I colored using my Promarkers.  I stamped and colored it a second time and cut it out so I could layer it on top of the other one.  I think I am getting a bit better with my Promarkers.  Then when I found the background paper at Joann's I knew it was the perfect fit for my chili pepper.  The saying is computer generated then cut out using one of my Nestabilities labels.  I love using the Spellbinder Nesties for cutting out computer generated sentiments.  I added a checked bow to the stem of the chili and called it done!  What do you think?

Now on to the hop, this is day 2 so make sure you visit every blog both days and leave a comment to have a chance at winning the tote bag donated by Thirty One the winner will be randomly drawn from one of the blogs.  Another reason to stop by all the blogs is I am sure there is some more prizes along the way.
I am also giving away a prize randomly drawn from the comments posted on both days, my prize is a $10 gift card to Tiffany Doodles.  She has some awesome digital images and is always releasing new ones, check out here website by clicking the link above.  To win this prize leave a comment on this post telling me what kind of images you like the best.
I also have a small red hot but not craft related prize to give away to one random comment from this post.  It is cute, you will love it!
I will be randomly choosing my winners on Monday 2/14, make sure I have a way to get a hold of you or check back here on Monday to see if you are the winner.

For The Love of Everyone --- Blog Hop

It is finally here our Valentine's Day "Red Hot" blog hop.  So glad that you stopped by and I am sure you won't be sorry as there is so much talent and inspiration along the way.  This is a two day hop so make sure you stop by again tomorrow to see more creations!  We also are very excited to have a sponsor this time, thanks to Celeste at Thirty One Gifts who has been kind enough to donate a tote bag for one lucky winner.  The winner will be randomly drawn for one of the blog participants' blogs so make sure you stop by each one and leave a comment.  Click on her link above and check out the great things she makes and they can be customized also!

So for my project today I have created this kind of cutey Valentine Card.  The larger red heart is a doily that I had bought a pack of.  When I took it out of the package to figure out what I was going to make with it, I looked at it and all that I could see was a face, so I went with it.  :)!
I cut out a scalloped edge heart to go behind the doily, oops can't remember which cartridge.  The "mouth" is a Martha Stewart glitter sticker.  The background paper is from a DCWV stack that I punched two of the edges with a MS punch, then using the same punch I made the strip across the bottom.  It is all very sparkly as most of the parts are sprayed with Glimmer Mist.   I bet you are wondering if I ever make anything that isn't LOL.
The saying is computer generated that I cut out using my heart Nesties, doodled and inked the edges a bit.  Are ya ready..............yeah already you say.................

Isn't it cute?  Now I know I won't have time to get it to you for Valentines Day this year but if you would like to have it leave a comment telling me why and I will pick a random winner to send it to.  Oh and I almost forgot---------------------I have some fabulous candy to give away.  I have a $10 gift card to Tiffany Doodles digital images, if you are not familiar with her stuff be sure and take a look, she is a awesome artist.
So win this prize leave me a comment on this post and tomorrows (this will give you two entries, one post per day please) telling what you like to use to color digital images if you use them.  You do NOT have to become a follower however if you like what you see here I would be overjoyed if you did!   I will have two separate drawings one for Googlie Eyes card (today's comments) and another for the gift card to Tiffany Doodles shop.  I will be randomly choosing my winners on Monday 2/14, make sure I have a way to get a hold of you or check back here on Monday to see if you are the winner.

Well there you go, check back tomorrow and on to the hop you go, your
next stop is the amazing, very entertaining OkieLadyBug, if you hang out on the Cricut message board at all I am sure you know her.  Just click on the button below.

Now here is the line up of blogs, stop by each one because you never know some are offering their own blog candy also.  Or if you get lost along the way you can always click on the blog hop button on the left sidebar.

Brand New Shinny Bike

Any boy would love to get one of these for his birthday!  I created this card following a sketch at Stamp TV weekly sketch challenge STVSKSP12.
The bike was stamped using Gina K Designs Enjoy the Sunshine  set.  I love this set as it is very versatile for different occasions.
The background holey strip is what is left after sequins are punched out.   One of the hardest parts was to cut out the two corner stripped pieces, the strips on the age were going up & down not cross ways so I had to angle it to get the correct angle on the strips.  The two oval pieces were cut with the Cricut then I distressed the edges.
The bike I stamped twice and colored with my MS markers.  One was stamped directly on the ivory oval, the other on another piece of paper, then I very carefully cut it out.  After it was cut out I put Glossy Accents on all the bike parts to make them stand out.  Then cutting very tiny pieces of foam tape I pop dotted the bike.    The sentiment I stamped and then cut out using one of my Nesties.
Hope you enjoy my bike card and thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Card with crumpled flowers

I have a couple weddings coming up and with my Mom here I need to make two for each one.  I think sometimes simple is very elegant and that is how this one came out.
The paper is all pearl white with a shimmer to it and embossed with a Quickutz folder.  The flowers were cut using my Cricut (can't remember what cartridge) then sprayed them with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and crumpled them up.  I did not crumple them as much as usual, but each flower has 3 layers, then I glued a pearl in the center.  The two doves were stickers that I had planned to suspend the piece of ribbon between and while I was laying it out it fell in the shape of a heart, how perfect was that!  Wedding colors are silver and blue and so I went with that theme.

Thanks for stopping by and I just love reading comments. :)

Birthday Flowers

I so love how these colors worked out together.  I made this card this week following the sketch at Stamp TV Sketch Challenge 11.  The center flower is colored using my Promarkers then cut out using Spellbinders label dies.  The flower and the happy birthday are both Gina K stamps.  Here stamps are fabulous and always stamp a good clean image.

The background paper is a single sheet I bought called "Lovely Lillies' by Carolyn Holt Designs, now I wish I would have bought more then one sheet.
Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear what you have to say about this card.

No card, but a very important post

I have a couple cards in the works on my desk but for now they will have to be on hold...............................................EMMA Olivia is coming!
Tomorrow morning at &:30 they are inducing labor so our Little Emma can come into this world.  We are all so excited beyond belief that I doubt any of us will get much sleep tonight.............I just can't wait.  A sad but very very proud moment will come in just a little over a month, March 9th  my grandson Nate and Emma's daddy will go into the Navy.  So he will have a very very short time to get to know his little baby girl.  I am so excited right now that I can hardly type (well I can't type anyways)LOL!

I posted this picture just after Christmas, but tomorrow that little yellow ball is coming out :)!

And I would love all your prayers that everything will go well, and I promise pictures when I have them, and believe me I will have that camera out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you all
