Wedding Card

Hi, I know it seems like ages since I have posted on my blog.  It has been one of those times when life has just been busy.  I have been creating, but just have not had the time to type up a post.
We had a wedding to go to yesterday so here is the wedding card I made.
I have had this background paper for many years and thought it was great to use on a wedding card.  I cut the heart out of pearl pink paper using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The sentiment is a Gina K stamp and the heart along side the sentiment are buttons.
I recently started making stick pins so I added a cross to this one and stuck it through a bow I made out of crinkled ribbon.   I love making them and I can easily see how this may become an addiction.
Well thanks for taking to the time to peak in on my blog, I would love to hear what you think of this card.

Thanks a Melon

Here is a cute Summery card I made to share with you.  With the 4th of July coming, I think we think of watermelon more often now than any other time of year.
I love the way this card came out cute and it was so simple after I decided on what papers I wanted to use.

I cut the watermelon and cantaloupe from the Preserves cartridge.  I layered the pieces then I used Glossy Accents on the watermelon and Crackle Accents on the cantaloupe.
The Crackle Accents made the cantaloupe look much better, it was so plain before.
The saying was cut from the Just Because Cards cartridge, I used my white gel pen to add the little dots, something I often forget to do and I love the way it looks.   I tied some bakers twine around the four sides and tied a bow in the middle.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you all are enjoying spending time with your families, Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddys out there.

What is that flower made from?

well, let me tell you how I made this flower.  Oh wait let me show it to you first and see if you can guess before I tell you.
I created this card following a sketch on the Cricut message board this week.  Hard to see in this picture but the dark pink and the white are both pearl papers and the shapes I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The happy birthday and flowers are Dazzles.
OK, did you figure it out?  I am sure some of you did because this was not my idea, I learned it from my favorite place for new ideas and tutorials Splitcoast Stampers.  If you have never been there is is well worth checking it out, just click on the resources button at the top of the page for all the different tutorials.  I get a newsletter (email) from them each week and one week it had this tutorial in it to make flowers from used Dryer Sheets, cool huh, it almost looks like lace?  Click HERE to see for yourself, mine is a bit different as I scrunched the "petals" up to give them a more curly look.  I rimmed the edges with Viva Decor Glitter liner.
Well I hope you enjoyed my card and I would love to hear what you think, leave me a comment :).

Summer Flowers

Hi just wanted to share a quick post.  I made this card a while back and am just now getting around to posting it.
The flowers were all cut using the Walk in my Garden cartridge.  I Cuttlebugged the pearl white paper behind it using a basket weave like folder.  The flowers on the left I sprayed with Glimmer Mist so they have a sparkle to them, then crumpled them up just a bit.  I added gold Viva Decor pearl pen to the centers.
I had some white buttons that had a checked pattern on them so I added them with a piece of bakers twine tied through the whole.  Well that's it, pretty simple.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today.

A Perfect Day

Hi, I have got so behind on my posting so I will try and catch up a bit this week.
Today I have a rather simple but pretty card to share with you.
Using the CTMH paper packs makes it so easy for me to put cards together and saves me a lot of time because everything coordinates so well and I don't have to keep looking through all my paper to find something that goes together.  On this card I use papers from the Sonoma Paper pack.  I love the greens and purples that are in this pack.  There is even a set of stickers that go with these papers, the buttons on the label are front the Sonoma sticker pack, they look so dimensional.
I added a piece of ribbon and a piece of rope through the cuts in the Spellbinder label I cut.
I stamped on the Smokey Plum paper and heat embossed it with a stamp from the Perfect Day stamp set.  I bought this set because it has some images that you can use on those ever so tough male cards.

Thanks for stopping in to take a peak and I will try and get a few more cards posted this week.  And remember it is Stampaganza time at CTMH, what that means is that for every two sets of stamps you buy you will get one free, click HERE for more details.  It is a great time to pick up those stamps you have been wanting, click HERE to start shopping.

Card Pattern Sketch Card

Hi, I have a card to share with you today that I created following the sketch this week at Card Pattern Sketch blog.  If you know me you know I love to follows sketches, this was a pretty simple one and went together fairly fast for me.
Of course using the papers in Florentine Workshop helped speed up the process since I have such a hard time picking out papers.  That is what I love about the CTMH paper packs it takes the guess work out of what goes together, LOL.  I found these buttons in my stash that matched the upper piece perfectly.  I cut the top scalloped circle using the Art Philosophy cartridge and then Cuttlebugged it.  The "thank you" is stamped using one of the stamps from the 4 My Friend CTMH stamp set, then I stamped the border along the top and the bottom of the front panel with a stamp that come in the Florentine Workshop, I think it added just the right amount of trim so the center piece did not look so plain.
I did the inside very simply to match the front and left a blank space to write a note on.
I am so glad you stopped by, I hope you enjoyed my card.  I would love to hear what you think.

It is STAMPAGANZA Time

YIPPE!
I am so excited to share our June Stamp Special with you. If you like to stamp now is the time to get your hands on some of these awesome stamps!   Choose any 2 acrylic stamp sets and get one of equal or lesser value absolutely free!! For every 3 stamp sets you choose - you will receive 1 of them free. There is no limit to the number you can buy.  Remember those cute stamp sets you love and decided you didn't need? Now is the time to buy them!  Pay close attention as you go through this post because I have a couple of tips along the way that you may not know about.  This is the exact reason that I fell in love with Close to my Heart Stamps!!!

My Acrylix Stamps: Did You Know?

My Acrylix® stamps are clearly the best in the stamping industry, giving you incredible creative freedom loaded with possibilities. Now is a great time for a refresher on our stamps with the beginning of June’s Stampaganza campaign—it’s buy two stamps, get one free.
Did you know that several of the CTMH stamp sets coordinate with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge Collection?  And let me tell you this one of the best Cricut cartridges out there, it is definitely my go to cartridge these days, then to top it off with the stamps that work with it, well you can't go wrong. This layout was created with that in mind.  Pay attention the the cute butterfly in this layout.
This layout uses the Love Clusters stamp set.  Notice the picture below!
See the outline on the butterfly with the picture of the actual stamp set? This means that you can cut this image with your Cricut machine and the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  When cut, you have the perfect shape to stamp!  When you receive your CTMH stamp set, it will even give you the perfect size of the image to cut so that every time is perfection!

•My Acrylix stamps are ready to use right out of the package—no cutting out, mounting, or applying stickers required. Just place the stamp on your block, apply ink, and you’re set.
My Acrylix stamps and blocks are clear, making it easy to stamp in exactly the right spot.

Another cool thing is some of the stamps have a layering you can do as with the  Rosy Regards Stamp Set.  A little tip to keep in mind is that each CTMH stamp set comes with a little foam material sheet.  You would think that this is just there to protect the delicate detail of the stamp set.  You would be half right.  If you pull this sheet with your stamp set and put it on your table and then lay your paper material you are stamping on over it, this cushion will provide you with an even more perfect impression of the stamp!  Cool, huh?
This beautiful set has two layers.  One is the background of the rose and the other is the edge detail, so using two beautiful inks creates an amazing layered effect to the rose!
Here is a picture of this beautiful set in it's entirety.
and this set in only $9.95

Remember to order your stamps from June 1 to 30th to take advantage of this great savings. Just click HERE to start shopping!  And don't forget (like I did) you can still look through the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea book and order stamps from there.  You could get a head start on your Holiday cards with some of the great stamps still available in that Idea Book.

Oh don't forget any time you order $50 you qualify for the stamp of the month for only $5 and June has the greatest little set I am sure you will want.  I love this set, it has some adorable sayings.

Just a tip, remember the least expensive stamp is free so if you have several larger stamps sets you want but you also have some of the smaller ones you want, it might be a good idea to put in two separate orders.  You will get the best savings this way.
You have the whole month of June to take advantage of these savings so you could spread your orders out over a couple of weeks.

Thanks for stopping in.

May this be.........

....your Grandest year yet!  I made this "wild" themed card using the Roxie papers from CTMH and stamped the saying using a stamp from the Hooray Bouquet stamp set.

I stamped the saying on a cut out I made using the Art Philosophy cartridge, then using my iTop brad maker I made brads our of the Zebra paper to add to the sides of the ovals.  I love the look of the top paper, it has a weaved look to it.  I added a glittery flower branch from a K & Company pack of stickers.
What is nice about the Hooray Bouquet stamp set is that it has several flower stamps the work with cuts on the Art Philosophy cartridge.
See that red out line around the flowers, that indicates that there is a corresponding cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge.  There are quite a few stamps sets that match to Art Philosophy cuts.

I also wanted to let you know about the special this month at Close to my Heart, it is our STAMPAGANZA month, that means for every 2 sets of stamps you buy you will get one set of equal or lesser value for free, yes FREE.  There is no limit, you can order 6 sets(pay for 4) get 2 free, 9 sets(pay for 6) get 3 free etc etc...   If you have never used CTMH stamps they are the best acrylic stamps out there, they always leave a crisp clean impression.  Don't forget while you are shopping for those stamps to look through the Autumn/Winter 2011 catalog as they qualify too.  Plus order $50 or more and you can get the stamp of the month for just $5 and it's a cute one.

Milton with a Poppy

Hello, hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  Sorry I have not been around for a while, my laptop dies and that is usually where I post from, waiting for my new one to arrive on Tuesday can't wait.

Today I have this cute card to share with you, using a Wild Rose Studio stamp.  Last month I was so surprised and excited to find out that I won a $50 gift certificate to Marker Pop from the giveaway Melissa Made was having on her blog.  Thanks you Melissa I love my goodies.

So I took this cute image called Milton with Poppy and I colored him with my Copic markers.  It had been hile since I had my Copics out so it felt good to color again.  I stamped the poppy twice and cut out the second one, colored it and covered it with Liquid Glass, then pop dotted it on top of the other.  I cut around the image with a Spelldinder and had to cut off part of the flower but that was ok since I was going to place that second flower on top.  The papers I used for this card are from a K&Company paper pack.
This card was created following the sketch this week at CPS Sketches.  Once I started working with this sketch I realized that I really liked and think I will save it for future use.  I cut a couple of circles using my Spellbinders, one from white and the other the green pattern paper, then just cut them in half and placed them at the top and the bottom of the card.  I actually flipped the sketch from the way it was posted on CPS Sketches.  If you are fast you can play along this week with this sketch because the deadline to post is June 3rd at 5:00 pm CST or watch for the new sketch to come out next week.
I will add a sentiment at a later time when I decide how I will use this card, it would be great as a get well, hello, birthday etc.

Thanks so much for stopping by and look forward to hear what you have to say about this cute little card.
