I Heard through the Grapevine...................

Hi, it's that time again, time for the new monthly challenge over
at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge.
This month our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis who is an artist
that has a wide variety of digital images, some even on
the dark side.
Here is the card I made using "Bushel of Grapes".

I colored it using Stampin Up watercolor crayons.  I used a GinaMarie inside/outside square die.  The paper is from a paper House pad called,
at the Vineyard.   The sentiment is from SugarPea Designs.  I stamped the top to close to the edge so with some great input from Ms Crafting Circle I cut out a
a little bit bigger "I" and glued it up there.

Well that is it, thanks for stopping by to take a peak.

Playing With Inks

Hi, I have a couple quick simple cards to share with you today.
After I make a card, if it is not specifically for someone
I will leave it on my desk until I type up a blog post.
Well, I have a bit of a back up on my desk so I am going to
have a few cards in this post that I have made playing around
with inks, Distress, Distress Oxide and Catherine Pooler Inks.
The first card I created the background using the Distress Oxide inks.
At first, I started out by just painting on stripes using Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber, it di not come out the way I envisioned it but the great thing about the Distress Oxide is that once it is dry you can layer the colors.  I added some Spiced Marmalade and Iced Spruce.  In the end I really liked it and did
not want to cover it up too much so I just added a Gina Marie die label
and stamped the happy birthday.

The next two cards again I played around with the Distress Oxides.

Both of these cards were made with the same piece of paper.
I really didn't like the way the paper came out after I had added the
Oxide inks, so I thought what the heck let me try using the
Joseph's Coat technique on it.  I grabbed some CTMH solid flower stamps
and randomly stamped using Versamark and then clear embossed them.
I then used Distress Walnut Ink I just covered over the stamped piece using my blending sponge.  It was amazing to see this come to light, so I turned my
not so nice piece of paper into a pretty usable piece.  I cut it in half using a wavy die and used the two pieces to make a couple cards.

Finally, the last card of the day is one using Catherine Pooler Inks and Unity Stamps.
The Cather Pooler inks are so vibrant and work pretty much like
the regular Distress Inks.  I just spread some ink on my craft mat
misted it with water and drug my watercolor paper through it.
I then stamped the Unity Stamps flower from the "Rebuild Your Life" set and
the sentiment is from "Bunches of Love" set.
After I stamped the flower and went back in and added some water from
the petals and dabbed it with paper towel lifting off some of the color.

Thanks for stoping by, would love to hear which card is your favorite.

Spring Boot - Bugaboo

Well, it's that time again, time for the Bugaboo Crafty Challenge
over at the Crafting Circle

use any Bugaboo image on your project.  You have a
whole month to join in the fun and maybe win
some Bugaboo images.  There are also Freebies every
Friday over at Bugaboo.

This month I chose to use the image called
Spring Boot which was one of the freebies a few weeks ago.
I colored it used my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.
I absolutely love these paints, they move so well so you can
paint lightly or darken your colors.
You will be seeing a lot more projects from me using these fabulous
watercolors.
So come on over and join in the fun at the
Bugaboo Crafty Challenge.

A Beautiful Feather

I love how this one turned out.  I made it a few weeks
ago but never got around to typing up a post.
Lately, I have had an addiction to Unity Stamps, I am sure they
love it but my wallet doesn't, they have way to many great
sales and tempting stamps.  Not a good combination for me.

This card I used the beautiful feather stamp from the
"Beautiful is Never Perfect" set.  This stamp has to be
way at the top of my list of favorites with all it details
and flowers.
I started out with some watercolor paper and using my new
Distress Oxide Inks.  Oh my, do I love these inks!  I used
Broken Chine, Cracked Pistachio (ha ha ha I am sitting here
cracking pistachios and eating them while I type this) and Wilted Violet.
Once I got the background the way I liked it I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine White embossing powder.
I am not very good sometimes at combining the right inks colors so I
can not take full credit for this one.  I saw a card done by
Lin over at the Sending Hugs blog and knew I had to give it a try.
I stamped and heat embossed the happy birthday on a Gina Marie
die cut.  You can check this and her other dies HERE.

Well I am so glad you stopped by would love the hear what you this
of my card.

Hamburger Boy - Bugaboo

Hi back again to share another cute Bugaboo BBQ image.
Our sponsor this month at Crafty Awesomeness Challenge is
Bugaboo stamps, showcasing her new website.
This burger looks lip smackin good, or at least my lil
hamburger boy thinks so.  I colored this one using my Copic markers then
placed him on some BBQ papers by Sweet Shoppe I printed to go
with the BBQ theme.  I love using these as there is always
coordinating elements to go along with the papers.   I also print
and cut the sauce and mit using my Cricut Explore then covered
them with Glossy Accents.
Well thanks for hanging out with me at my BBQ for a minute,
come and join in the fun at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge

Oh Happy Day - BBQ

Hi, I have a cute summer themed card to share with you
today.  This month at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge out sponsor
is Bugaboo Stamps.  Jodie has a whole new website set up for you
to make your shopping experience easier.
For this month I chose to use some of Bugaboos cute older
stamps.
This is actually 2 separate images that I merged together and printed on
kraft cardstock.  I colored them using my Polychromos and I think a
couple Prisma Pencils to get the correct colors.  Are they just the cutest?
The clouds and sun are Gina Marie dies that you can get here at the
Scrapbook Outlet.  She also revamped her website, must be something
in the air, ha ha ha.
And that is it, a pretty simple card, I'll be back to share another card
using a BBQ image, this one I call Hamburger Boy.

Get Well Wishes - Mojo Monday

Hi, I got to play along this week at Mojo Monday, one of my
favorite places to play.  I love making cards following sketches and
they always have great sketches.

Here is this weeks sketch, plus since it is the first Monday of
the month it is also prize week.

I made my card using some papers from one of my older
K&Company paper stack.  It is two sided paper so it was easy to
match up what papers I wanted to use.  The back pink panel
I die cut using a Gina Marie die.  The piece where the sentiment
is stamped is a stitched edge die cut.
I embossed some of the pieces to add some texture.  The
sentiment I stamped using a Verve stamp from the
"Treasured Words" set.  The prize for this week's
challenge is a set of Verve stamps of your choice.  Not a bad deal,
their stamps are great.  So make sure you head on over and
play along at Mojo Monday, the more entries the more winners.
