(CAS)E this Sketch

I play along this week at the
(CAS)E sketch challenge, I love CAS or clean and simple
but I often have a hard time with them.
So I made this card following this sketch.

So out of my comfort zone but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I wanted to use the latest 4 Catherine Pooler inks that
just came out.  A couple of them actually came on in a previous
Stamp of Approval box, but they were just added to the store.
I wish the colors would show up better in the picture.
The bottom circle are stamped in Grape Crush, the dots above it
in Limoncello and Be Mine.  The dotted line was stamping
using All Tha Jazz.  I love CP inks they are so vibrant and stamp perfectly.

Maybe I can get more comfortable doing CAS cards if I practice them and make some more.

Watercolor Background

Hi, woohoo posting 2 days in a row.

I love creating a card following a sketch and recently I ran across another
challenge that has a weekly sketch challenge it is

Here is the sketch for this week.

I was drawn to the watercolor look of the yellow in the background
so I got out my Catherine Pooler inks and went to work.

I used 2 of the colors from the Spa Collection for the watercolor look,
Stone Blur and Rose Petals.  Then for the strip across I cut out
a piece of paper using one of the new CP border dies that came in the
lasted SOA box.  Then I colored it using Daydream ink.
The butterfly is a Close to my Heart Stamp, that I stamped in
Stone Blue then with an aqua brush I filled in the pink area with
the Rose Petals ink.  To finish it off I added a couple
flower buttons.

You're the Best - Angie girl

Hi, finally got to get back in my room and create
something.
This card I created using Unity Stamps and following the sketch

Here is the sketch, a rather simple one this week.

I changed up the center a bit to use an oval instead of
a square.
I have a BFF that is great and always there for me even if it
is just to get together and have a couple glasses of wine and chat.
So I wanted to make a card to send her to tell her how special she is to me.

I stamped the Unity Angie Girl stamp from the "Today I am Happy" set on kraft cardstock.  I colored her using my Polychromo pencils.  The color I
like the best on kraft is red but I wanted to give the purple a try.
This would also be a great image to paper piece her hat and shirt.
I cut an oval frame using a Gina Marie die out of purple paper
that has a sling chevron pattern to it.
The background is a piece of paper from a Watercolor stack from Michaels.
I embossed the background paper but then ran it through again after I embossed it but not inside the folder but underneath it.  This flattens the pattern a bit to
make it have a softer look to it.  The "you're the best" is also a Unity stamp from the Butterflies & Sunbeams set.

Thanks for taking the time to spot by and take a peek at my blog.

Comfort and Peace

Hi, I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Today I have a card to share with you that I made following the
sketch this week over at The Outlawz Wednesday sketch
challenge.

Here is the sketch for this week.

I used some single sheet paper for the script part and the bottom I embossed with a Darci embossing folder.  The
center was stamped using a couple Unity stamps.  Luckily I
didn't need a sympathy card right now but it is always nice
to have handy when you do it.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Birthday Wishes

Hi all, I have a quick card to post for you today.

I was messing around with my Distress Oxide inks and made the
paper to look like water.

The fish is from NitWits "From the Sea" collection.  I just imported it into Design Space and cut it out using my Explore.  The bubbles are a stamp from Designs by Ryn you can check it out HERE.  I love how real they look.  Then the Sentiment stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamps.
That is it, came out pretty cute.
Thanks for taking a minute to check out my blog.
