Wishing you a Beautiful Day

Hello everyone, hope you all are having a fabulous weekend.
Here is Arizona I am so ready for Summer to be over and
finally have our temperatures drop below 100.

I recently saw a video on Catherine Pooler's blog where she
made a card using Brusho Powders. Well, I don't have any Brusho but I do have Ken Oliver Color Burst which is basically the same thing.
Here is a link to her video if you want to check it out, click
HERE to watch it.
Since I recently had surgery on my hand and can't really color I thought
this was something I could do because it just has to be sprayed with water.
So here is my take on it.
The feathers are stamped on Canson mixed media paper using a Unity Stamp and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I then wet the stamped area with
plain water then sprinkled my Color Burst powders on it.    I sprayed it with more water to make the colors blend and move some more, then to add more sparkle I sprayed it with diamond Glimmer Mist spray.  Lastly, I splattered some
dark gray spot on it.  I have to tell you then when I finished with the coloring
I thought yuck, this came out awful.  I went ahead and mounted the piece on a piece of very dark gray paper and I think it made the whole thing pop.
I stamped the sentiment in white on the same dark gray paper and pop dotted it
on the front.  After it was all together I really liked it.
The colors are so much prettier in person and sparkly.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think of my version
of watercoloring with Color Burst powders.

Eek! A Mummy

Hello, here is a card I made using this week
Friday Freebie over at Scrapper's Delights.

This card was super easy and quick to put together thanks to the piece
of background paper from the DCWV Halloween and Fall stack I got a few years ago.  Hard to see but I colored her using Copic markers, her face is colored but doesn't show up too well in this picture.
Be sure and head on over to Scrapper's Delights and pick up your image.  It is a progressive challenge over at Scrapper's Delights challenge blog
Thanks for stopping by.

Fly Guy Birthday

I learned of Power Poppy stamps a couple months ago
and boy I fell in love with them.
Today I have a card to sharing using the digital image

I used a combination of Distress Inks and Zig Clean Color markers to color
this image.
There is a challenge over at Power Poppy blog this month called
C.S.I. Copy, Steal Inspire.  You are to find a card you like Copy the original layout, steal the idea and be inspired to make your own card.
I believe that card I was inspired by was one my Debbie Olsen.
Click HERE for a link to see the card I was inspired by.
Debbie used the Tulips images but what I liked about it
was the "windowed" look to it.
I framed the window with a cut using a Gina Marie die.

So head on over to the Power Poppy challenge and join in.

Lovely Notes Collection

Hi, can't believe how much I am posting lately it feels good
to finally be back into posting on my blog.  Thanks to all those
that visit me :)
Today I have a card to share that I made using some of the goodies
that came in my Stamp of Approval box
Lovely Notes Collection.

I made this card following the sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I replaced the stars with flowers so it looks quite different from the sketch.
The yellow background I stamped and heat embossing using the background stamp that came in the SOA box.  The flowers were stamped using my MISTI and Distress Inks.  Then I cut them using the matching dies that came in the box.
Actually, I cut them first then stamped them, using the MISTI made it easier to line the stamps up correctly.  The branches were done the same way.
The center stamp is also from the Lovely Notes Collection.

The next Stamp of Approval box comes out in late September and it is supposed to be a holiday collection so I am sure it will be
packed with lots of goodies.
Well, thanks for stopping to take a peek at my card.

Pretty Peonies

Hi, I am back today to share a card with you I made using one
of the fabulous digital images from PowerPoppy
by Marcella Hawley.
You really do need to go check out her store her stuff is
AMAZING!  Not only does she have digital images she also
has clear stamps.  Here is a link to her store

So here is the card  I made using the Peonies digital set.
I love these peonies, they remind me of my childhood.  Our neighbors always
had a bunch of peony plants and always had so many blooms.  What I remember most was there was always ants all over them, but I still really liked them.

I colored them with my Zig Clean Color markers.  I love these especially for coloring flowers, with the fine brush tip it makes it easy to get into small spaces.
I just used some single sheet papers from my stash and added a piece of Stampin Up ribbon.
The sentiment is stamped using a GinaK stamp.
Well, I hope you enjoy my card and be sure and head over
to PowerPoppy and check out the wonderful images there.  The nice thing too is all the sets come with some sentiment with them so you don't just get the images.

Thinking of You - Scrapper's Delights

Hi today I have a card to share with you that I made using
the Scrapper's Delights Friday Freebie for this week.
Her name is Sakura, so head on over to Scrapper's Delights and grab yours.

I think she is so cute holding that little heart.
A couple weeks ago I won a set of Chameleon pens.  I chose to
get the skin tone set.  So this is the first project I used them on.  I do
like the skin tones colors but I do have to practice at it a bit as
to get different tones you have to keep loading the tip
with blending solution to lighten up the colors.  I am sure in time I
will get better with them and get the hang of it.
The panel with her on it looked so plain so I added some embossing
along the edge and I really like the way it made it look.
The papers are just some single sheets from my stash that I have
had for quite a few years.
I made this card following the sketch this week over at
Mojo Monday.  I used a Verve stamp for the sentiment.
Well, thanks for stopping by and be sure and join us at the Scrapper's Delights challenge which always anything goes.

A Beautiful Day

Hi, I' m back again with another card to share.
the challenge is to use florals.
Well back in April I got the Hero Arts kit of the month and since
this challenge is featuring Hero Arts products I thought it would be
perfect to use the stamps I got in that kit.

So here is the card I came up with.

The colors really look better in person.  Now I can't take full credit for this
because if it had been for Sandy Allnock's video I never would
have been able to paint these flowers like this.
The kit came with some Daniel Smith watercolor paint dots
and I have to say Daniel Smith watercolors are amazing.  Just those little dots go
a long way, and the colors are beautiful.
Make sure you check out Sandy Allnock's video and while you are there
subscribe to her blog, she is great!
The sentiment was also in the Hero Arts kit, then I added some sequins to add some sparkle.
The paper I stamped the images on is Strathmore Bristol smooth and
the paints blended great.  Now I did paint this flower once before and
used actual watercolor paper and I found that is held the water better and
stayed wet longer so the colors did flow a bit better.
Click HERE if you want to check out that post.

Thanks for stopping in to take a peak.

You're Amazing

Hi, I am pretty excited to share this card as I love
the way it turned out.
I got my Stamp of Approval "Lovely Notes" box and "oh my!" was it ever
stuffed with all kinds of goodies.
So here is my card using a lot of the
things that came in the box.
Isn't that color combination pretty?  I am on the Design Team over at
some of the awesome digital papers from there to create this card.
The mixed color is a digital paper from the Mixed Media pack.
I used the die from Neat & Tangled that was in the SOA box to
cut the rectangle with the circles along the sides, I love this die
and you can do so much with it.  The chevron is also a die that was in the
box and designed by Catherine Pooler who is the creator of the SOA box.
Then I stamped the sentiment using one of the Catherine Pooler stamps.
Even the background is stamped using a background stamp that was in the box, I think I did pretty good showcasing lots of the goodies from this box.
The next SOA box doesn't go on sale till mid-October and they sell out
fast you may want to get on the wait or notification list.  You may want to check
there might even be some of the "Lovely Notes Collection" left.

I created this card following a past sketch from Mojo Monday and it is also
one of the sketches for this month's challenge over at the
Crafting Circle message board that runs the whole month of August.  Come
check it out and join in, I am the hostess this month.

Thanks for stopping by and would love to hear what you think about my card.

Tulips for your Birthday

Hello, well here we are at August 1st already, it's my birthday month.

Today I have a card to share with you as part of the
Design Team at the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge at the Crafting Circle.
This month our sponsor is PowerPoppy so I used the Tulip image
to create this card.
I just love this image and it was so easy to color.  I used my Zig Clean Color markers to color the tulips and boy do I love them.  The more I use them the more I like them.   Once I colored them I used my Spellbinders to cut them out.
The banners at the time I cut using my Cricut Explore and the side green piece was cut using a corner die from My Little Paper World.  I really like these corner dies.
The happy birthday is also a die cut out that I heat embossed using gold embossing powder.
I made the card following last weeks sketch over at

Also, I am hosting the sketch challenge this month on the Crafting Circle message board and this is one of the 4 sketches I am using.
We always have an extra credit or two to help inspire you and
learn new things.  My extra credit to add some shiny gold to one
of your cards.  So that challenge is just getting started so head
on over and enjoy the fun.  You have all month long to play along.
So there is a lot going on but mostly head on over and check out
PowerPoppy's stamps.  Marcella has both digital format and
clear stamps.  I am sure once you go there and take a look around you will love what you see.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you join in on one of the challenges.
