Acetate Clear Front Card

Hi, back to share a kind of cool card with you today.

This month one of the challenges on the Crafting Circle message board
was to use acetate or something clear on a card.  I know the month is
just about over so it might be late to join in the challenge, however, it might be a great idea and something different for you to try some time.  I love to try
new things and new techniques.
It is rather hard to take a picture of it but I think you can see how it is.
The back green piece or base of the card I made a half inch bigger than I wanted the card so I could fold it over and attach the acetate to it.   I cut the acetate using my Cricut Explore so the edge would match the flower pattern that was also cut
with the Explore.  The inside white panel I embossed then attached only about a quarter inch on the left side so it could be lifted and you could write or stamp your sentiment on the inside.   Hope this all makes sense.
The happy birthday wishes is a die from Cas-ual Friday stamps that was
part of a Stamp of Approval box.
The butterfly is also a die from Stampin Up.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my blog.

Wedding Card

Hola everyone.  Today I have a card to share
with you that I made a month or so ago.  My daughter and her
husband were going to Wisconsin for their niece's wedding,
(which incidentally is today) and asked me if I could make a wedding card for them.  So using one of Bird's Card files I made this card.

The colors for the wedding was Fall colors so I used the flowers to bring that color theme into the card. The flowers are cut from vellum and colored with alcohol markers. It is hard to see in the picture but all the papers are pearl-like papers. I had made this same card a couple of years ago in
all white, if you want to check it out click HERE
Because of the flowers and a lot of the layers are popped I had to make a box for the card to go in.

Well that's it, just wanted to make sure and share this card with you
before I forgot about it since I don't have it in front of me anymore.
Make sure you head on over and check our Bird's Cards, she has some awesome files, many of which she shares for free.

Embossed Roses

Hello, back to share another card with you today.
I tried something new that I saw on Pinterest.
I embossed the roses using a Teresa Collins Bella Rose embossing folder in my eBosser on Bristol paper.  The roses were then watercolored using
my Daniel Smith color dots.  This is one of those cards that look so much better
in person.  The roses were covered with Wink of Stella so they sparkle.
I matted it on salmon colored paper and yellow to pick up the colors in the roses.
The sentiment is a Unity stamp that I stamped and heat embossed in white on
a cut I made with my Cricut Explore, added a few sequin and that was it.

Thanks for stopping by, would love to hear what you think of my card.

Birthday Wishes - Verve Stamps

Hello everyone, today I have a card to share with you following
the sketch this week at Mojo Monday.
Since it is the first Monday of the month there will be a prize, the
winner will get to pick a set of Verve stamps.  They are great stamps,
so if you can make a card and join in the fun.

The papers are from a pack I have had for years that has a wide variety of colors and coordinating patterns, it from k-i Memories.
The cake is a Verve stamp that I colored using Distress Inks. Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw.
The birthday wishes if from the same stamp set as the cake.
And that's it a pretty simple card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Pretty Poppies

Hi, I hope everyone had a fabulous long Labor Day weekend
and hopefully had a little bit of time to craft.
My hand is doing much better after my carpal tunnel surgery
so I was able to get some things done.
So today I have a card to share with you that I hope will brighten
your day.

I stamped these beautiful very large Poppies from  Unity Stamps
by Donna Downey on watercolor paper then heat embossed them using white embossing powder.
Then colored them using Zig Clean Color brush markers.  I love those things!
I masked off the flowers so some looked like they were behind others, but I messed up a bit and should have masked the big one and stamped the one
up in the corner so it would be over the big one, but I guess it came out looking ok anyways peeking out in the back.
These stamps are pretty big the front one measures about 4 inches.  Then
I stamped a border across the middle to set off the sentiment a little.  I saw someone do this (wish I could remember who) and liked the touch it added.
The sentiment is a Rubbernecker stamp.
I wish it would show up in the picture because I covered the poppies with
clear Wink of Stella so they are all sparkly.

Thanks for stopping by, I would love to hear what you think
of my card.

Get Well Poppies

Hi, back again with another card.

I had carpal tunnel surgery so my hand was a bit sore
but I thought I would take a crack at trying to color with
watercolors as they do not require pressure.
So using the sketch this week at Mojo Monday I create
this card.
I stamped the poppies with a Mark's Finest stamp that I got a few
years ago, in fact, I don't think it is available anymore.  I love poppies, I think they are my favorite flowers.  I am pleased with how this turned out, the water coloring was pretty easy to do.  I wish you could see it in person as it
sparkles because I put Wink of Stella over the flowers.
The papers are from a K&Company pack and the get well soon is
a Hero Arts stamp, that I stamped with Distress ink Forest Moss.
The whole flower panel I have popped using Darcie fun foam.  I love that
stuff for popping things on cards.  Thanks, Crafting Circle for telling me about
it, it is super cheap and you get a lot in the package.  I have found that my
ATG tape gun works great for adhering it.
I hope you enjoy my card, have a great weekend.

Cooking with Wine................................

....................and drinking it too, of course!
Hi I have a fun card to share with you today.
I am on the design team for the Crafty Awesome Challenge
This month our sponsor is Bloobel stamps.  Lisa is a fabulous artist and draws some of the cutest quirkiest images you will ever see.
So here is my card I created using one of the Bloobel images.
Isn't she cute in her own way?  The image I used was
I colored her using my Zig Clean Color markers, I love using these they
work like watercolors.
I cut her out using a Gina Marie wonky stitch die and inked the edges with Distress Ink.  I added some white polka dots to her dress using a white gel pen.
I cut out the label using a Spellbinder label die and then stamped it with Rubbernecker Stamp.  I love this stamp and it is so me, he he he.
It must be inherited, both my Mom and I have to have a drink on the counter
while we are cooking, me wine and Mom has her beer.  So you see I do
"cook" with wine, although I have to admit mores goes in me than
goes in the food.  LOL
So there you have it, make sure you head on over and check out
Lisa store, Bloobel Stamps.  And make sure you color up an
image and put it on a project and enter the Crafty Awesomeness Challenge at the Crafting Circle.

Sepia Embossed Paper & Unity Stamp

Hi here we are September 1st already, where has the time gone?
Soon it will be time for Christmas cards.

Here is my  creation for the A Bit More Time to Craft digital paper
site where I am on the Design Team.

The background paper is one of the digital papers from
A Bit More Time to Craft from the Sepia Embossing pack.  I absolutely
LOVE the way this paper looks like it has so much texture.
I stamped the dragonflies using the Unity stamp from the
Let Your Wishes Fly set.   This is a fabulous set it has several sentiments stamps in it too. I cut the stamp out using a Gina Marie die, once around the stamp then using the larger one from the darker brown.  I also added a corner that I cut using one of the My Little Paper World die from the corner set.
Well, that's it, thanks for stopping by.
