Fall Sunflower Birthday

Well according to the calendar it is Fall, but you can't tell by the temperatures we have been having here is Arizona.  We have still been in the high 90s, I am so ready for it to cool off.  So I thought making a Fall like card might help me remember it is Fall.  This image is a freebie JustInked image that I got to use for participating in the CDAC Progressive Challenge.  It is a lot of fun and if you want to get in on it the cost is only $1, it was free if you started from the beginning. You get a set of new images to work with every two weeks.   Check out the CDAC link HERE as the new images come on October 1st just a few days away.
I am really working on coloring with my Copics and feel like I am making some progress.  I colored the sunflower and the butterfly I did twice so I could layer the second one on top.  The top butterfly I covered with Crackle Accents to make it a little stronger and to give it shine and texture.  After I colored the sunflower I had a little trouble trying to figure what colors I should use on the butterfly.  Then when I picked out the paper I was going to use for the frame it helped me to pick the colors. The paper is from the DCWV Autumn stack from last year, hard to see in the picture but there are light dots on it.  The whole frame background is pop dotted to give it more of a framed/window look.   The happy birthday I cut using the Martha Stewart All Occasions Cake Art cartridge and flood filled the color using my Imagine to match my color scheme.  Love my Imagine for being able to get that perfect color I need.  The leaves in the corner are from a package I bought last year at Michaels and I added a brad I made using my i-Top brad maker.  I love that thing, it makes it so easy to make something to match your project.
Here is a closer shot of the butterfly.  If you look close you can see some of the crackle.  I also used my chalked to shade the white behind the image to tone down the white a bit.  To set the chalk I sprayed the whole thing with Glimmer Mist and it also gave it a bit of shimmer.  This card is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, (a letter sized piece of paper folded in half) I am really beginning to enjoy making these bigger cards, something I have been inspired to do by blogging buddy at The Cricut Couple blog.  OMG if you have never visited there blog you are really missing something.  They have to be some of the most talented card makers out there.

I am so glad you stopped by today, I really do love to read you comments so let me know what you think of this card.  I will be my daughter's birthday card (hope she doesn't visit my blog) which is in November.
