Beach Babe - Friday Freebie

Hello, I back to share with you a card I made using the
Friday Freebie over at Scrapper's Delights.
Isn't she just adorable with the fish nibbling on her foot.
I printed and cut her out using my Cricut Explore, then colored with Copic
markers.  I love the way the image comes with a small border/edge around the image as we all know this is not possible to do using Cricut Design Space.
For those interested, it also comes with out that border edge.
The Scrapper's Delight DT were challenged to make something using this image with a twist......make a shaped card or no pattern paper.  I really wanted to
make my card using both twists but just ran out of time and had to go with using no pattern paper.   The blue paper on the bottom is very fibrous and has a slight texture to it so I thought it would be perfect for the "water". I tore several pieces
and layered them to look like waves and give it some depth and dimension.  I
took a white gel pen and added some details to the water.  The top very very light blue paper I embossed using my Darcie cloud folder.
So now go and grab your Friday Freebie image over at Scrapper's Delights.
There is also a month long Scrapper's Delights challenge where you
can enter your creations.
Thanks for stopping by.

Ink Smooshing Background

Hi, today I have a card to share with you that I used a new technique
I learned called Paper Smooshing to create great backgrounds.

I used Distress Inks for my background but there are so many
other mediums that you can use.
I followed a video from YouTube to create the background.  There are several videos out there about this technique and each are done slightly different.  Here is a link to the one I used, Ink Smooshing.
Once I was happy with the background which I did on watercolor paper then I started to put my card together.  I stamped the flowers using one of Rubbernecker's watercolor stamps, this was is a 4 stamp process.  Using my MISTI really made it a lot easier to line up those layers. After I stamped it I cut it out using a Gina Marie die, then backed that with a piece of mulberry paper.  If you have ever dealt with mulberry paper it can be a bit hard to tear or cut, here is how I did my layer.  I placed my die cut of the flowers on top of the piece of mulberry paper then took a wet paint brush and just "drew" around or wet the shape I wanted.  Once it is wet just pull it and it tears on the wet line creating that feathered edge look.
The sentiment or poem is also a Rubbernecker stamp that I stamped on a piece of vellum paper.
Well, I hope you enjoy my card and go ahead and give the Ink Smooshing a try you will love the results.

Emboss Resist Card

Hello! So glad to be back in my craftroom.  I had a
very very busy past week with family and friends.
While I really enjoyed the time I also missed being able to
get in my room and create.

I had watched this video from GinaK Stamp TV about doing
Emboss Resist with Zig Clean Color markers, sine I recently got a
set I could not wait to give this a try.

I love how this turned out.  I used several different pink, orange and yellow markers to do the background on watercolor paper.  I stamped on the background
using a Unity stamp and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
I stamped the happy birthday to using a stamp from the April 2016 Stamp of Approval box and then die cut the "you".  I matted all the layers on black to make the colors pop and that was it.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and have a peak.

Pink & Teal

Hello, hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.
I just wanted to share a quick card with you today.

I made this card a few weeks ago but didn't get a chance to post it.
I really love this color combination.
I used the pattern paper from a Simple Stories paper pack that has
stripes, chevrons, and polka dots in it in a variety of colors.
The flower is an Altnew stamp that came with the
Simply Cards & papercraft magazine.  I stamped the
happy birthday on a Spellbinder label I cut out.

Well thanks for stopping to take a peak.

Santa's Helper "off" color Christmas

Hi, everyone.  I guess it is time to start thinking
about those Christmas cards, yep it sneaks up on us every year
no matter how well we try to plan.
So I thought maybe working with the Friday Freebie this
time from Scrapper's Delights would get me started to think about
what I want to do.

I printed her on watercolor paper and colored her with my Zig Clean Color pens.  I am really lovin these things.
Hard to see in the picture my I used my Sakura glitter pens on the stars on her hat and bells.  After I colored her I hand cut her out, I know I could have imported her into my Explore and cut her out but I didn't think ahead.
We were given the option to add a twist of some non-traditional colors
and luckily I found some pink Christmas papers.  Added some sparkly paper
and I think it all worked out great.

I want to thank you for stopping by and go ahead and head on over to Scrapper's Delights and pick up your Friday Freebie.

You've Got This

Hello, I am so excited to share this with you.  I was accepted to
be on the design team over at
and this is my first project for them. :).
They have some wonderful digital paper designs and they
even have a 'Freebie" tab at the top of the blog.
So here is my card for the July 1st "Always Anything Goes" challenge.

I love the purple and yellow color combination.
I created this card using the papers from Lozzy's digital paper pack
I followed the sketch this week over at Mojo Monday
Using my Cricut Explore and the slice feature I made the circle off the
top of the card and then pattern filled it with one of the patterns from
the Delight paper pack.
The butterfly is cut using the Butterfly dies from Stampin Up and the sentiment is stamped with a stamp from the You've Got This stamp set.
Well, thanks for stopping by and make sure you head on over and join the fun
at A Bit More Time to Craft anything goes challenge.

Mousy High STakes Poker

Hi, well it is July so you know what that means,
it is time for the start of a new challenge at the
The Crafty Awesomeness Challenge will run for the
entire month of July and the cool part is you can enter the
challenge with anything that you have created, card, layout, picture
quilt, etc etc you get the idea.
This month our sponsor is

I was lucky enough to get this cute image to work with.

The reason I was excited to have this image to work on is because
once a week (most of the time) we get together and play
nickel poker.  Mostly on Friday nights we go out to dinner and then come back to our house and play poker.  There are 6 on us and it is all brothers/sisters
and their other halves.
It is always a fun night and sometimes I think we laugh more
than we play.
So here is the card I created using the High Stakes image.
I struggled to try to figure what I wanted to color him with and finally decided
on my Copic markers.
The papers are digital papers from Tactile-Studio formerly Sassy Designs.  I love their digital papers and they always seem to have
the correct designs for the theme I want to go with.    It's funny cause I have
a room full of papers and then here I go printing paper, oh well you
gotta do what ya gotta do. LOL
I used my Gina Marie stitched circle dies to cut the circle.  I love
Gina Marie dies and they are so reasonably priced.
If you love cutting dies you really should go check out her stuff.
The black pointy circles I cut using my Cricut Explore.  The
small oval with the sentiment was also cut and written using my Cricut Explore.
Well, that's my card and I am sure one of our poker clan will be
getting this card for their birthday.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure and head over the
Crafty Awesomeness Challenge and enter your creation.
