CDAC Freebie Challenge Red & Aqua color combo

This card came together for a couple of challenges plus for Crafty Creations where I am on the design team.  Our challenge this week at Crafty Creations is to use at least three dies cuts, anything from punches to dies cut machines etc etc...   My die cuts on my card are the flower cut from the Cricut cartridge, Flower Shoppe, the circle from the George cartridge and the brown strip is a Martha Stewart border punch.  The fan was hand cut by me if that counts as a die cut LOL!
Our sponsor at Crafty Creations this week is Crimson Cloud, be sure you stop by and check out their web site.
Speaking of the fan it is a Priscilla Styles digital images that I got from CDAC.  You really need to check out CDAC as there are so many talented people there plus right now they have a challenge going on where you get free digital images to work with.

This fan is one of the images from Priscilla Styles that I colored using my Copic markers.  I am getting better at the shading thing.   I am pleased with how this turned out.  I also have a problem some times with colors but this worked out well.  I added a red glitter brads to the fan and some sheer silver ribbon.
The flower started out white and I inked the edges with Distress ink and then sprayed the flower with Glimmer Mist.  The background aqua paper I Cuttlebugged with a flower embossing folder.
Well sure hope you enjoyed your visit and will check out Crafty Creations and join us and also CDAC and see what freebies you can get at and play along with us.

Sending Prayers

Hello, I made this following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday #206, although I love to play along each week with Mojo Monday I just don't seem to get to it very often.   The sketch could be round, square or any shape you prefer.

All of the papers are from the DCWV Linen Stack, the papers in this stack are so soft and comforting so I thought I would make this into a "sending prayers" card which could be used as sympathy, get well or just receiving bad news.  Always good to have this type of card on hand in case you need it.  I feel they are harder to make when you actually need them.
I set this all up in Cricut Craft Room on line software so I would get my sizes correct to fit into a 5 1/2 inch square card.  I cut the circle and the scalloped circle from the built in images that are in the Imagine.
Some of the papers are glittery ans the circle where the sentiment is stamped (a GinaK stamp) is pearl paper.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Way to Go Card..........

..............Beep Beep.  I think this card came out so cute.  I made it following a sketch on the Cricut message board, where we had to follow a sketch and use some old supplies that we had.  I think I have had the little car brads over a couple of years.

The roads are cut from the My Community cartridge and then I added a piece of yellow paper behind the black.  The Way To Go was cutting using the George cartridge which was my first cartridge when I got my first Cricut.  The blue background is a Cuttlebug folder from the Boys will be Boys package which I sanded so the white shows through.   The yellow paper was printed using my Imagine.
I am so glad that you really can't tell which is the front and which is the back of the cars, LOL that way I didn't have to worry about putting them in the right direction.

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. I love to read them, besides that way I knew you were here to take a peak.

An Old Fashioned bath

I got this image free over at CDAC Progressive Challenges, you should go and check out the details.  I am running a little behind so you have till 8/31 to get into this challenge.  Pricilla Styles creates some adorable images perfect for coloring with your markers and/or pencils.  This one I colored mostly using my Prisma Pencils and Gamsol.  The grass bunches I did use my Copics for.
The grassy/flower on the bottom was printed using my Imagine and the Snapshot Nature cartridge.  I hand cut the "rolling" hills part.  The saying is stamped but it did not make a full impression, oops.  Don't ya just hate when that happens especially when you are stamping directly onto the card.   The old fashioned water pump is cut from the Country Life cartridge.
I added some Crackle Accents to the water, but just did not crack the way I thought it would.  I did also add some water "splashes"
I couldn't resist so I put some water "drops" coming out of the water pump, and put some silver dots for the rivets on the wooded water tub.

A Pink Giraffe

Hi, I was a little behind but I think I am caught now!  WHEW!  This cute image on this card is from our sponsor  Digis With Attitude this week at Crafty Creations .  Our hostess Juelmarie had challenged us with the images to bring our our inner animal.  As soon as I saw this adorable feisty giraffe I knew I wanted her to be pink.
This card also follows a sketch this week on the Cricut message board.
The frame around the giraffe and where the saying is is from the Fancy Frame cartridge.  The saying is computer generated and printed on pearl white linen paper.  As soon as it came out of the printer I immediately sprinkled it with Crystal embossing powder.  Printing on this type of paper does not dry instantly so you have a small window of time to hit it with some embossing powder.  The background pink giraffe paper is from the DCWV Safari stack.
I think you can read it a little better here.  I added some pearls at the edge of the oval.  I colored Gina Giraffe (as she is called at Digis with Attitude) using my Copic markers.  Now I have a problem that I hoping you can help me out with, what should the inside say?  I was quite pleased when I came up with the front saying as I was trying to show the attitude of Gina, but now what do I put inside?  Any ideas?

Be sure and head on over to Crafty Creations and join in our challenge, you could win some of these images.

Pearl Paper with flowers

I made this card last week for a challenge, I was still not feeling well so I did not get to post it till now.  It was made following a sketch.  Even though I wasn't feeling 100% it came out well.

The top paper with the flowers is very pretty and has a pearl sheen to it.  I bought a few sheets at Michaels a year or so ago and finally got around to using it.  As you may know I love Poppies, this one is rather simple, no coloring to do.

The bottom white is pearl cardstock also that I embossed using my Cuttlebug.  The card is 5 x 7 and we all know that the Cuttlebug folder do not cover a 7 inch long piece of paper even though it says it is 5 x 7, the folder is but not the embossing area.  Well I embossed it using the large dots folder and it did not cover it all, so I decided to emboss it again in two pieces using the regular Swiss Dots folder, well that kind of messed up so I ran it through the Cuttlebug underneath the folder (not inside) to try and press out the dots.   That compressed them some, so then I took my brayer and ran over it several times and finally decided to use it as it.  Well let me tell you if I was feeling well, I would have stopped and cut a new piece of paper after the first
try at embossing and start over, but because I just wanted to get it done I used it, and I think it looks interesting.  So I guess I learned that a lot of times you can turn "mistakes" into something very different and unusual.
Because of the way the sketch was I added some large eyelets and threaded the iridescence ribbon through the eyelets.
The two tags were cut using the Alphalicious cartridge and then stamped with the happy birthday.  Bot words were on one stamp so what I did while I was inking them was to cover one word (birthday) with a piece of paper, take the paper off and stamp it then repeat with the other word.

I would love to hear what you think of my card.

A Zebra Hello

Hi everyone I finally feel like I am getting close to being back on track.  For those of you that don't know, I have been feeling very lousy lately one of the things they think I have (and I think so also) is shingles, YUCK.  One of the things I think have helped a bit is the nerve medicine I take anyway and since shingles is a nerve problem I believe that medicine is helping.  They are starting to fade.  They are also doing other tests as I become tired very fast.
Well enough of that, I did finally get to make a card over the last 3 or so days, besides doctor appointments, other things to take care of and getting so tired I had to take a nap it is a big deal that I finally got a card done
This was made following a sketch on the Cricut message board and also a color challenge of using Black, Red, Gray and White.
The Zebra is ribbon, and the "hello" is a stamp.  I cut the white swirls from the Cindy Loo cartridge and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist to give it some sparkle.  There is a lot of sparkle on this card but does not show up well in the picture.  Also hard to see but the red half I embossed using my Martha Stewart score board in a diamond pattern.
You can see that pattern better in this picture, I added a few Sakrua gen pen sparkle dots to the white.  The hello I rounded the corners and distressed the edges.
The buckle I cut using Fabulous Finds.
I cut it 5 times and glued them all together.  Then I put Diamond Glaze on it rather thick.  After it dried using my i-Rock I added some bling.  I hope you enjoy my card.

Happy Pumpkins

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around much, have been feeling pretty yuckie lately sure hope it goes away soon so I can back to crafting.

This week at Crafty Creations Challenge, our hostess in Peggy and she has challenged us to use the color combo of RED, ORANGE and GREEN.  Sounds tough but it can work especially if you have some great background paper to help you with the colors.  Peggy also got some images from our sponsor this week for the DT to work with
2 Cute Rubber Stamps
So here is the card I created, I am not real happy with it, mostly the white area, I guess because I was sick and my mind could not focus well
The image I used is actually a "freebie" this week so may want to head on over a grab it.
The circle shaped card I cut using the Wild Card cartridge.  The striped paper is from the DCWV Autumn stack from last year.
It did a bit different, the white circle with the image is actually pop dotted on the inside of the card and them fits through the front circle.  Here is a view which might show how it looks.
I colored the image using my Copic's and then put Crackle Accents on them, in two different stages so it did not meld all together.  here is a close up of the pumpkins so you can see the crackle
And finally here is how it looks opened.

So come on over and join us at Crafty Creations and have some fun.
