I am so excited about this card for a bunch of reasons.. First of all the May challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge where you have to pick a line from the Tic-Tac-Toe board and work those these elements into your card. Quite a challenge, actually it was a challenge just picking which line to use. LOL. I chose the first row down for my card.
I had not made an easel card in a long time so I was excited to try it again.
Folded the card is 5 1/2 inch square. For my "sun shape" I used the hills and sun cut from the Country Life cartridge. I just recently got this cartridge so this was my first time using it. It has a lot of cute things on it. Now I went WAY out of my normal comfort zone in that I used a variety of patterned papers for my hills. I usually use more true colors for the objects but I am trying to force myself out of my box. I think it turned out good. I also used the new Cricut Craft Room on-line software for this cut. The flowers were cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge. I love flowers so this cartridge is right up my alley. I tried to use the Cricut Craft Room for the flowers but it would not recognize the cartridge :(. I cut them several times in various sizes then sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and layered them together and added a brown pearl in the center. Here is a closer picture of the flowers.

The stems are vine ribbon that I bought, it works great as the stems. The "shine" was cut from Calligraphy Collection cartridge, and the grass along the bottom is from Everyday Paper Dolls.
The last thing I am excited about this card, is that I made it to send to my best friend from high school, hence the "best friend" stamp. We had lost track of each other and had not heard from each other or talked for years, then we "ran into" each other on Facebook and she called me the other day. It was great to catch up and at least know that now we can keep in touch. She lives in Minnesota and I in Arizona so not sure when we will get to see each other so I wanted to send her a card to tell her I enjoyed talking and also to show her what I do. So I added a small writing panel inside the easel card.
Although this is not one of
Delicious Doodles images, which I absolutely love, I am always inspired my techniques, sketches and all the other talented bloggers out there, so I will enter this into there challenge. I love to look at all my papers, cartridges and other tools to get my inspiration for a card.
This card also fits into the following challenges
Desert Island Crafts - chose 3 items
Anything Challenge - Bingo ribbon/flower/die cuts
Scrappy Frogs - Anythings Goes (out of comfort zone)
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes
Fab n Funky Challenges - Make your own flowers
Well I am so glad you stopped by and I hope you like my card enough to leave me some love on my blog. I would also be thrilled if you saw enough to want to become a follower. Someday I will make it to 200 followers LOL
