Here is a card I made for my brother-in-law whose birthday was January 6th. He is a very funny person and we joke around a lot. Later in the post I will explain the "joke". I wanted to make the front of the card very serious looking so we would be thrown off track.
The frame was cut from Elegant edges and I backed it with silver mirror paper. The saying was computer generated. So hard to take a picture of that mirror with my camera showing up in it. LOL
Then when you open it this is what you see................................
Well now to tell a bit of the story. One time while we were in Las Vegas, my BIL did a bit too much partying one night and when he got up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom he said he looked in the mirror and there was "an ugly man" in there. Even though he just turned 71 he still has a lot of hair, (some grays ones so I colored them in) so it was quite a mess when he looked in the mirror. The image I colored using my Copics, it is an image from Digis with Attitude and thought it fit the theme of this card perfectly, with him proudly holding up his brew.
I even added a piece of rope for his belt.
The grill I cut from glossy black paper and silver for the grate using the From my Kitchen cartridge. The steak was also cut using From my Kitchen and covered with Glossy Accents.
I printed the grass paper using my Imagine and the Snapshot Nature cartridge, then cut it out using the grass cut from Plantin Schoolbook.
I added cloud paper to the background. The happy birthday is cut from glitter black paper using MS Birthday Cake Art cartridge.
I want to say thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear what you have to say about this card. It was so much fun to make and we all got a big laugh out of it.

Summer Grillin
This is a fun card, that I will add a sentiment to later. I think it would make a great guy birthday card, also a Fathers day card. Unfortunately I no longer have my Father to give it to.
The card measures 6 1/2 by 5 inches. When I was looking through my paper and found this BBQ paper, I knew what I wanted to do because it would follow one of the sketches this week for RAQs Challenge on the Cricut message board. The oven mit and spatula are from From my Kitchen cartridge. I cut the spatula four times, once from silver foil like paper. I stacked all the brown cut out together then cut the bottom part off the silver one and glue it on top. The oven mit was also cut several times, and I added a thread loop when I was gluing them together. I hung them bot using some colored cord. The top blue strip was punch with swiss cheese punch and Cuttlebugged.
This shows the silver a little better and also the cuff on the oven mit. The blue paper I used for the oven mit has some fuzzy dots on it.
Here are the challenges I will be entering this card in
Aud Sentiments - no sentiment end 5/24
Crafty Catz - Anything goes end 5/26
Pennys Challenges - Anything Goes ends 5/25
Stampavie & More - Summer end 5/24
Thanks so much for stopping by, I would love to read you comments and be thrilled if you saw fit to become a follower.
