Watercolor Poppy Birthday

Well hello, I am back with a post today of a card I made using my Rubbernecker 2 step stamp set Poppy Fields .   Rubbernecker has some beautiful sets and also some of the funniest saying stamps I have ever seen.
I made this card following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday.
The theme is "tall & Skinny", my card measures 8.5 x 4 inches and fits into a business size #10 envelope.
It took me a couple tries to line of the two stamps but then again it is not supposed to be perfect.  :.) The happy birthday is a Verve stamp.  I did some faux stitching around the flower and also in the scalloped circle.
The background paper I made using watercolor paper and my water soluble crayons.  I am having funny making some of these papers.  I first spritz the watercolor paper with water then scribble on it with the color crayons I wanted, then sprayed it again pretty heavy with water so the colors would blend together.  After it was all dry I sprayed it with Tattered Angels spray so it has a sparkle to it.  Over at Sentimental Sundays this week the challenge is to make your own background paper so I will be entering this card in that challenge also.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope you enjoyed my card today.

Birthday Wish

Hello all, I am back again today to share a birthday card with you.
I love playing along with sketch challenges and I ran across a new one last week called WHAT IF? Wednesday sketch challenge from The House that Stamps Built, a Repeat Impressions stamps blog.
I love the way the color combination looks.  I used papers from the DCWV Nana's Kids stack.  I embossed the white background with a Spellbinder M-Bossabilities reversible folder.  The white banner I embossed with the Cuttlebug folder birthdays.  When I went to adhere the wish sticker I notice that it was right after the word birthday from the folder, that was purely accidental.
I will be entering this in the WHAT IF? sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, if you like to do sketches head on  over to the WHAT IF challenge you have till February 18th to link your card.

Few Birthday Cards

Hello, again it has been sometime since I have posted on my blog.  I have been busy making cards just have not got to sit down and post them.
So today I am going to share with you a few birthday cards I have made recently.
This made using papers from an old K&Company speciality paper pack that I have.  The white parts are the bottom on the card are raised up, almost like puffy.
The papers on this card are from the CTMH Sonoma paper pack.  I stamped the happy birthday using a Verve stamp.
This is a simple card, however the background paper I made using my water soluble crayons on water color paper, then spritzed it with some Tattered Angels, I love the way it came out. The happy birthday was cut using the CTMH Artbooking cartridge.  I also used a stick pin that I received in a swap a couple of years ago.

Well thanks for stopping by, I have some more cards to share you which I hope to post in the next week.
Thanks

Birthday card for Mom

Happy New Year!
WOW it has been a long time since I posted on my blog.  Things got really crazy around here for the holidays as I am sure it did for a lot of you.
I was creating but just did not get time to sit down and type up a blog post.

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my Mom's upcoming birthday in February.  She is here staying with us so I had to make it on the sneak, she pops in my room now and then during the day to see what I am up to so I always had to have something ready to show her, LOL.
I made this card following a sketch from The Sweet Stop from a past challenge.
The papers are from a K&Company paper pack Floral Dreams.
The flower are paper Recollections, I stamped the center label with a Verve stamp.
I will enter this the challenge this week at Stampin Royalty where the challenge theme is Birthdays.
Well I hope you like my card and thanks for stopping by.

Southwestern Look for Mojo Monday

Hello, I guess I have been MIA again from my blog, sorry it has been hectic and then I also got sick.
Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch #322.  I love the way it turned out.
A couple of weeks ago I got some Tim Holtz Distress Paints and started to play around with them creating some papers.  I should know better than to watch his videos because I have to have whatever he demonstrates, he is amazing.
The background paper is one I made using the distress paints. In person it has a bit of a sparkle to it because I misted it with Tattered Angels.
The colors reminded me of southwestern colors so I went with that theme.  I mated the background paper on dark purple to pick up the purple that is in there.
The copper strip across the middle I did using one of my MS punches, then added a double layer of ribbon.
I stamped the pot on vellum and heat it embossed it with brass.
I will add a sentiment later when I decide how I will use it, but all and all I am happy with how it turned out.
Thanks for stopping to take a peak.

I will follow you........

..................anchored with love.
Hello everyone, I have a project to share with you that I am very excited about.
As you all know one of the latest craze is chalkboard like art, I found the perfect thing for me to try it on in the last issue of Paper Crafts magazine.
In the magazine they did it on a clipboard, well I wanted to do it as framed art.

I have a grandson (well actually two)that is in the Navy and I thought his wife would like this framed to hang in their home.
I was very hard to take a good photo of this, I guess I should have taken the glass off so I would have such a reflection.   I hope you can read the words as they have great meaning, in case you can't here is what it says
"I will follow you my love,
wherever you may go to
the sunny beach or the stormy sea
you are my anchor and
forever will be"

It was quite a challenge to set this file up in the correct shape that I wanted.  I tried in both Silhouette Designers edition software and in Make the Cut software, I finally added up using MTC to create it.
Using a white Uni-ball Gel Pen I wrote on a piece of black poster board.  I used posted board because it was the largest piece of black paper I could find.  The anchor is on a piece of  10.5 x 13.5 piece of poster board.  After I wrote it with the white pen, I rubbed a piece of white chalk on it to give it more of a chalkboard look.
Here is a better picture showing the distressed chalkboard look.
In person it looks a lot more black.  Well I had to wrap it up and mail it to Maine because that is where they are living.  I was very nervous but it arrived safely :)
She was very thrilled with it, as I kind thought she would be.
I am so glad you stopped by, I would love to hear what you think of my project.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Frosted Christmas Card

Hello everyone, as many of you know I love to play along at Mojo Monday whenever I get a chance.  This week I was able to make a card following the sketch this week.
Here is my Mojo Monday #314 card.
I love the way this came out using non-traditional Christmas colors.  All the papers are from the CTMH paper pack Frosted.  The saying is a stamp that is on the Card Kit Workshop Frosted, there is a lot of goodies in this cardmaking kit.
The ribbon is very sheer and sparkly, I got it at a placed called SAS Fabrics that has a lot of ribbon and trim very cheap.  I added a bit of faux stitching around the edges.
Well that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop on over to Mojo Monday and enter your card as this week there is a prize.

A Few Christmas cards

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a while since I posted.
Today I have a few Christmas cards that I have made over the last few weeks to share.  Trying to get a little head start on them.
The first one is a very simple card, using paper from Recollections all season paper pad.  The holly was cut using my Cricut.

Here is a shaped card I made using Cricut Craft Room and the Artiste cartridge.  I printed the paper using my Imagine. I love the way it came out, very easy can be mass produced.
This one I totally scraplifted (can't remember from who. sorry)
It is all made using pearl white paper.  I cut the frame from the Artbooking cartridge, a couple of times and also from chipboard, so I could pop dot it.  I added a piece of acetate for the window, then punch a bunch of branches using the MS branch punch.  The bottom strip is also a MS punch that I wove some ribbon through.

This one I made using the papers from last years CTMH paper pack.  I love the papers in it ans sure wish I would have bought more of it.
The center ornament was cut using the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.
The colors are so much prettier in person.
The last one I made using the papers from this years CTMH Christmas paper pack called Frosted.   They also have a complete card making kit with this paper and it has everything you need to make 15 or so cards including stamps, if you want to check it out click HERE.This is also a simple one that could be made easily with many different paper combinations.
Wwll thank for stopping by and hope you enjoy my Christmas cards
Hugs!

A travel trailer

Hello everyone, I have something really fun to share with you today.
This is my first time making a 3D object using SVG cuts, and I am real excited about it.  I think I found a new love, to create these things.
We manage and live on an RV storage lot, so I thought this would be cute to make and display here at home.
Isn't it just the cutest thing?  I love all the details.  The original file was created to have it sit on top of a box, but I just wanted the trailer.  The file is called Camp Firefly, you should really go check out all the awesome cut files they have.
I wish I would have put some vellum on the inside of the windows, maybe next time.
The lights are brads that I colored with my Copic markers because I did not have any red ones.  For the Flamingo's legs I used a black twistie tie.
One last picture of the front window.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my little Travel Trailer.

A Fishy Birthday

Hello everyone, sorry for the little break in posting.  Hubby had shoulder surgery last week so things have been a bit out of sort around here.
I am in love with the way this one turned out.
I colored this cute little Whimsy Stamps digital image Gertie with my Copic markers, I colored the lips extra dark and then covered them with Crystal Lacquer.  I cut the fishbowl using my Cricut cartridge Create a Critter a couple of times then glued a piece of clear acetate to the bowl and pop dotted it over Gertie.  I added a few Fiskars ZingZ stickers as water splashes, I love these things for water.
Here is a close up of the fish bowl and Gertie.
The saying I stamped using a Rubbernecker stamp, go check them out they have some really cute stamps and sayings.  I stamped it onto Spellbinder die cut outs.
I searched and searched through my papers to try and find some kind of water paper or something to use as a background (probably spent about an hour+), then I saw this orange polka dot paper and it was PERFECT!  I had the blue/aqua holographic paper in my stash for a while and it all fit together.  Funny how sometimes you have something in your mind and search and search only to come up with something totally opposite that works out much better.
Well thanks for stopping by to take a peak on Gertie, hope you like her.

I will post this card on Make it Monday blog.
