No Line Coloring

Hi, lately in the "coloring" world no line coloring is

all the rage.  I have to admit I love the look of it, but not

very good at it.

So over at Power Poppy this month the challenge is......

"Say YES to NO lines"

I had to give it a try using Power Poppy image 

Tulips in a Hobnail Pitcher.  I printed it on my printer

but changed the lines to print in very light gray, probably 

too light cause it was hard to see.

I have to admit I kind of messed up, mostly on the leaves.  

All in all, though I do like the color palette and once I put it together on

a card it didn't look too bad.

I colored it using my Zig Clean Color pens on Strathmore Bristol smooth

paper, I like this paper for Zig coloring. 

I then cut out the oval using a Gina Marie die in the middle of my

checked paper.  Love this set of dies cause after you cut out the center

you also have a stitched oval piece to use.  I mounted that whole panel on craft fun foam to raise it off the base.  The circle I cut using my Cricut and then

stamped with a stamp from CTMH.  I used Catherine Pooler's Tiara ink                    and it matched the paper perfectly.  I love these inks!

Now over at Kit and Clowder this month Alyce has a class

for coloring with no lines, so after I did this I went on over and sign up                    for the class.  Maybe I will do an updated version

of this one after I have done the class, just for comparison

purposes.  I am sure it will be remarkably better as Alyce is

a fabulous teacher.

Birthday Cupcake

Hello, hope everyone is having a great week so far.

One of the places I like to play along when I can is

Tuesday Morning sketches.  Today I have a card to share using

the sketch this week.

Here is the card I created.

 This card opens in the center but stuck it closed to take the picture. 

When I put the card together I accidentally put my pattern paper on the wrong

side from what I originally intended :/  but had to go with it anyways.

The pattern paper is from DCWV Sweet Stack.  The left-hand panel I embossed then covered it with a piece of what is left after they cut out

the sequin, I know it has a name but I can't remember it.

The center square I cut using my Explore and them embossed it with 

the Cuttlebug folder Happy Birthday.   The center circle I cut using a 

Gina Marie stitched die and then stuck the rhinestone cupcake from Basic Grey that I have had forever.   I actually designed this card around it

so I would finally use it.

Now onto the birthday wishes stamp in the corner.........did I 

ever tell you how much I LOVE my MISTI!

And for a couple reason regarding this stamp.

This is a CTMH stamp that corresponds with a Cricut cut from

the Artiste cartridge.  Sometimes it is a  struggle to get the stamp lined 

up perfectly with the cutout, using the MISTI makes it so easy.  Let's see if I can

explain this.  I used my Explore to cut out the piece to the correct size,

then I placed the negative part from the cut out into my MISTI and lined up the 

stamp in that negative area, closed the lid and picked up the stamp.  I placed the cut out back into the negative stamp and stamped it!  Perfectly aligned.

You know how hard it is sometimes to get a perfect impression with 

the solid stamps like this one is.  Well using the MISTI that is no problem

because it stamps in the exact same spot everytime.  I think I inked this one up 3 times to get a nice even solid stamp.  Pretty cool huh?

A Few Christmas cards

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a while since I posted.

Today I have a few Christmas cards that I have made over the last few weeks to share.  Trying to get a little head start on them.

The first one is a very simple card, using paper from Recollections all season paper pad.  The holly was cut using my Cricut.

Here is a shaped card I made using Cricut Craft Room and the Artiste cartridge.  I printed the paper using my Imagine. I love the way it came out, very easy can be mass produced.

This one I totally scraplifted (can't remember from who. sorry)

It is all made using pearl white paper.  I cut the frame from the Artbooking cartridge, a couple of times and also from chipboard, so I could pop dot it.  I added a piece of acetate for the window, then punch a bunch of branches using the MS branch punch.  The bottom strip is also a MS punch that I wove some ribbon through.

This one I made using the papers from last years CTMH paper pack.  I love the papers in it ans sure wish I would have bought more of it.

The center ornament was cut using the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.

The colors are so much prettier in person.

The last one I made using the papers from this years CTMH Christmas paper pack called Frosted.   They also have a complete card making kit with this paper and it has everything you need to make 15 or so cards including stamps, if you want to check it out click HERE.This is also a simple one that could be made easily with many different paper combinations.

Watercolor Stamping

Hello everyone thanks for stopping by today.

A while ago I bought some watercolor stamps from Rubbernecker stamps. I finally got to try them out.

I used the Flowers in the Breeze stamp set for this card.

It is a 3 step stamping process to get this look.  I am really happy with the way it turned out for my first try and I am sure I will use them often.

The bow I cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  It is so much fun making paper bows so they match your papers exactly.

A Couple fun Birthday Cards

Hi, I am trying to catch up on my blog posting.  I have been busy creating cards

but have just not found much time to post them.

This is a card I made following a sketch, it is pretty simple but I love the colors.

The background paper is from a DCWV paper stack that I got a long long long time ago and was probably one of the first stacks I bought.

The center circle sentiment I made using Microsoft Word.  I do not do it very often so I really have to play around with it to get it right.  Then using my Cameo and Make the Cut software I was able to cut around that sentiment.  The center is a canvas button sticker from CTMH, I was trying to keep this so it could be used for a male so I hope that flower doesn't throw it off.

Here is the second card to share with you.

 The papers are CTMH Lucy paper pack.   I hosted a challenge and my extra credit was to use a negative cut.  Well where the flowers are is a window, the rub-on stickers are on a paper behind the main strip.

The bow I cut using the Artiste cartridge, I love to cut the paper bows, that way they match your project exactly. 

Here is a closer look at that rub-on and the bow.  I also added some rub-ons to the paper the bow was made from.

A Fabulous Day

Hello everyone hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

I have a card to share today that I made using some papers from

the Best of K&Company paper stack.

The center brad I made using my iTop brad maker to match the paper.  The crocheted green center was a goodies that came in my box from Websters Pages.  That box was just packed with fun things and papers.

Here is a closer look at that crocheted piece.

All the cuts were done using the Artiste cartridge.

Rosette Birthday card

Hello everyone, I have another Mojo Monday sketch challenge card to share with you today.  As I have said I love to play along when I can, also I have a hard time making card without following a sketch :/.

This is a larger card, an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper folded in half.  I enjoy making these larger cards because you have more room for things, plus your cuts do not have to be so small.  The happy birthday is stamped using a Mark's Finest stamp. 

The patterned paper is from K&Company Best of K&Company stack. All the plain papers are shimmery and pearl like.

The rosette is cut from the CTMH Artiste cartridge, out of the same paper used at the top.  I added a button to the center.  I tried so hard to keep this a card so that it can be used for a male.  They are sometimes so hard to make and I do not have many in my stash.  I added some swirls I cut using Home Decor cartridge, out of the same shimmery paper.  I hope with the swirls and fancy paper that it is not too girly for a guy.

Happy 1st Birthday

Hello everyone hope you are having a fabulous day.

I have a card to share with you today that I made for one of my Great Granddaughters that will turn 1 in November.

I think it came out so cute!  The papers are from an Imaginisce Princess paper pack that I got free when I placed an order.  It has so many cute papers, brads, rub-on and some chipboard pieces.

Well I am finally venturing and using my Silhouette Cameo more, I am starting to get more familiar and comfortable with the software.  I am so used to using my Cricuts and just putting in a cartridge.  I still love my Cricuts and will use them right along with my Cameo as I did on this card.  

However the possibilities are endless with the Cameo and their software, like the "1st" I just went into the software and put a search in for 1st birthday and there was several images for me to choose from for just .99.  This fit perfectly with what I wanted to do.

The label was also cut using my Cameo out of vellum and then I also cut a pink shadow.

I cut the bow from glitter paper using my CTMH Artiste cartridge, isn't it just adorable, it makes it so handy when you don't have the right color ribbon you can just cut your bow out of the same paper you are using on your project, plus you don't have to struggle trying to tie the perfect bow.

I Cuttlebugged the white part of the one to match the polka dot paper.  I put a small puffy cupcake sticker next to the one, but I am not sure sure about that and if it will stay there.  What do you think, does it look OK?

Following a sketch

Hello all my blogging friends.  I have a card to share with you today that I made following a sketch.

I love this sketch, with the right papers it can really make a frame effect with a lot of depth.  I did not accomplish that like I wanted to with the papers I used. :(.

I am sure I will approach and use his sketch again, with a different set of papers.

So here is my card using this sketch.

  The papers are from the DCWV Lemon stack, I love the papers in this stack they are so glittery.  The "button" I cut about 5 times using the Artiste cartridge, then stacked and glued them together, I then I stamped the top layer with a matching stamp from CTMH.  

Here is a closer look at the button.  I covered all the layers of the button with Liquid Glass, then feed the ribbon through the holes.  The happy birthday I cut using the MS Elegant cakes cartridge.

A fun birthday card

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great Saturday and enjoying World Card Making Day.  Lots of fun and prizes for doing what we love making cards.

I have a simple but colorful card to share with you today.

I cut the ribbon/banner using the CTMH Artiste cartridge and Cricut Craft Room so that I could make the red shadow for them.  I like to shadow things whenever I can as I think it makes it pop more.  The background yellow I embossed using my Cuttlebug and a new folder I got.

I have a great-grandson turning 4 in November and I think I will use this for his birthday card.

I finished the inside by just matting some of the colors from the front.  I will stamp a sentiment later.

Celebrate Today

Hello again, I have another card to share with you.
This card was made following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday.
I recently received the Clementine Paper pack from CTMH so I wanted to use the paper to make this card.  I love these papers and also the canvas stickers that match the paper.

I love using CTMH paper packs because it makes it so easy to match and put the cards together.  You can check out the Clementine pack HERE.  There is also a Clementine Workshop in the Go Kit that includes all the papers and a coordinating stamp set and embellishments.

The strip down the length of the card I punch using one of my Martha Stewart punches then Cuttlebugged it.

I added some Rain Drops that I got a while back at Big Lots to the center of the flowers and also on the banner.  The celebrate today is a CTMH stamp that coordinates with a cut on the Artiste cartridge.

Purple & Green Plaid

Hello all my blogging friends and visitors.  I love the colors in this card and how it turned out.  I made it following a sketch from the Cricut message board that I play along with every Wednesday.

It is a larger card, a full 8.5 by 11 sheets of cardstock folded in half.  I enjoy making these larger cards, you have so much room to show off your papers and/or embellishments.  Not in this case but when you make a larger card you can make your Cricut cuts larger which keeps them from tearing or just not cutting out all the detail like when they are cut small.

All the papers on this card are from an older DCWV paper stack called Flower Shower, spring stack.  I love how the purple and green look together.

The label I cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge and using Cricut Craft Room I also made a shadow layer for it.  I stamped it with a Stampin Up stamp and added a couple of small flower stickers to dress it up.  I think the two small bows across the bottom is just enough so the area does not look too blank.

I just added some of the papers to the inside and will add a white piece with a sentiment when I go to use the card.

A Daisy Birthday

Hello everyone, bot I am on a roll posting on my blog!

I have a birthday card to share with you today that I made following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday, I like to play along when I can they have some great sketches and an awesome design team.

The paper was a single sheet I recently bought at Michael's, I loved the colors in it.  I framed the center square with black glitter paper to make the yellow stand out.  I used a couple different Cuttlebug folders and then added some MS daisy flowers I had.  The center happy birthday I stamped and heat embossed with black sparkle using a Stampin Up stamp and that is pretty much it.

Flirty Paper Birthday

Hi everyone, I have a bright flower card to share with you today.

This card was made using the papers in the new CTMH Flirty Paper Pack,

plus it follows a sketch challenge I am hosting this week on the Cricut message board.  We would love to have you join us click HERE to check it out you have till Tuesday 10/2 to play along.

 I love the colors in this paper, and of course I like anything that has flowers on it.

  The goldrush border was also cut using Artiste cartridge, then I stamped the happy birthday one word at a time.  Both words are on the same stamp, it is one that comes in the Art Philosophy bundle, but I bent the word I didn't want around the edge of the acrylic block and inked the word I wanted to stamp.  Hope this makes sense ha ha.

The flower and leaves are cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge, I cut it out of the Flirty Raspberry colored paper that comes in the pack, then spritzed it with some Glimmer Mist to give it a bit of glimmer.   I also used my embossing tool to add some lines to the leaves to give them some dimension.   The center of the flower is a pearl brad.

There is also a set of  CTMH stamps Love Blooms that match this paper, I think they will be on my next order.

It is a two step stamp set so you can make your flowers look like they are layered, or to put the dimension on them with a different color.

Cowboy Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone, boy sometimes it seems hard to find time to put up a blog post.  Thanks for sticking with me a visiting when you can.

Today is my BFF's husbands birthday, he always dresses toward the cowboy style so when I got this Dakota paper pack from CTMH, I knew it would be perfect to make him a birthday card with.

Both the paisley print and the striped paper are from the Dakota paper pack.  

The pocket I cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge, it was cut using plain white card stock, then I sprayed it with Cornflower Blue Walnut Ink by Tsukineko.

I love this stuff because not only does it give your paper color it also adds kind of a textured look and feel to it.  I added a few rivets to the corners then stamped the sentiment with a stamp from Mark's Finest stamps, while you are there take a look around they have a lot of fabulous stamps.

The pocket watch was cut from the Sophisticated cartridge.  I layered all the pieces then covered the "face" of the watch with Liquid Glass.  

I guess I forgot to take a picture of the inside :/ but it was simple using the same papers from the outside and I stamped it with a stamp that said

"Party till the Cows come home"

Purple & Orange

I love to play around with colors.  some are easy to put together where others are a bit of a challenge, orange and purple is one of those color combos that is sometimes hard to put together.

I think I did pretty good pulling this off.  I know this is a great color combination for making a Halloween card, but I wanted to do something different.

The butterfly I cut from the Artiste cartridge. 

The black and white paper is glitter paper, so I glued up the butterfly and added glitter to it also.  I love polka dots so I thought that was a great way to add the orange to the card.

Live, Laugh Love

Hi everyone glad you stopped by.  I have a quick card to share with you today.

The background paper was printed using my Imagine, then I stamped the sentiment using the Love Life CTMH stamp set.   The stamp is all in one line but I wanted it to fit into the label so it took a little bit different stamping to achieve that.

I put each word separately on the block and wrapped the rest of the stamp around the side, only inking up the word I wanted.   Everything went well, the middle word was a little tricky but I got it.

The label that the sentiment is stamped on I cut from the Artiste cartridge.  Artiste is one awesome cartridge.  I have a special going on right now if you want to check it out click HERE.

My First Mini Album

Hi, I am so excited to share this with you.  Over a year ago I bought a Cinch because I wanted to start making some mini albums.  I love some of the awesome ones out there and since our great-granddaughter was born in 2011 I thought it would be perfect to make a mini-album for her.  

I am so pleased with how this came out for my first try.  

It is only 4 pages, one page for each letter in her name.  Her name is actually Emma Olivia and we call her Emma O' so my hubby thought that I should add an "O" page, but I will do that on another one later.   Gives me an excuse to make her another one.

I started out by welding each letter of her name to a rectangle in Cricut Craft Room and using the letters from Storybook cartridge.  I cut each piece from chipboard, with each page getting a bit longer as her name spelled out.  The whole book measures about 4 inches by 9 inches.  

Using papers from DCWV Nana's Kids Girl stack I cut the front and back out of each page, then a letter out of a coordinating piece of paper.  Lot of the papers have glitter on them.  Each letter on the front of the pages I covered with CTMH Liquid Glass, you can see it better here on the "E".

The butterfly is a sticker and the flower I made using the CTMH Artiste cartridge. I need to tweak my ribbon ties a little to make them more even.

This is opened to the first page, I put a small frame here and embellished it with some flowers from the Bitty Buds assortment. 

Here is flipped to the next page.  I found these cute sparkly stickers with an arrow to point to the next frame which was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  All the frames are cut from white chipboard then mounted with foam tape leaving one side open to insert a photo.  

This is the back side of the first M.  The "love this smile" are rub-ons from the CTMH Lucy papers.  This frame was cut using the Artiste cartridge, then I added the brad flag to the top.  

And here is the final page, this frame was also cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge, then I added some flower stickers that I have had around here forever. 

Then finally the back of the book, I guess I should have added something here it looks so plain.  Maybe I will add another frame, we will see how much time I have.

There I just added some rub-ons to the back I think that looks better, instead of being so plain.



 Tomorrow morning we are flying to New Hampshire to visit Emma so I want to take this book with me.  I can not wait to see them and I have never been to the east coast before so I am so looking forward to it.  It will be a family reunion of sorts as my Mom is also coming from Colorado so we will have 5 generations there.

Hello everyone, I have a quick card to share with you today.  I am sure these colors will cheer up the recipient(not sure who that will be yet). 

I have had this paper in my stash for a very long time, but loved it matched up with the black.  The scalloped circle is cut from the CTMH Artiste cartridge, then stamped with a stamp from the  CTMH 4 My Friend set of stamps. 

I added some blog around the scallops and also in the center of the embossed flowers.

It is a simple card but I think it makes a big impact with the bright color.

Pillow top background and Roses

I have a pretty card to share with you today.  I subscribe to Stamp TV and every week Gina K shares a video of a new technique.  This past week it was to make this pillow top background paper, HERE is a link to that video.  I love the way it really looks like a pillow top mattress, of course hers looks a lot better than mine but I am pleased nonetheless. 

The roses and leaves I cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge.  I cut them out of white card stock then inked the edges with Cotton Candy ink before I rolled them up.  After they were rolled I sprayed them with Tattered Angels to add a bit more color.   The swirls I cut using my Cameo, I am still excited at how the Silhouette Cameo cuts so cleanly even on the thinnest pieces without tearing them.

We all know how frustrated we have been trying to cut something like this with our Cricuts.

I added a few dots of sparkle glitter to the swirls, but not sure I like the way it looks.  Also added some glitter to the edges of the flowers.  Recently I was in a stick pin swap on the Circle message board so I started to create stick pins to use on my cards, so I made a simple one to stick behind the flowers.

 The white strip across the front I made using one of MS punches, I think this one is my favorite one.

I will share pictures of the pins I received and the ones I made in a later post.
