Blue & Yellow Checked

Hello everyone glad you stopped by.  I just realized something, I have the hardest time coming up with a title for my post.  LOL
Well this one spells out exactly what this card it.
I made this using these papers I have had for a very very long time.  I bought this paper pack from D.O.T.S when I first started making cards over 16 years ago.  the company DOTS is now known as Close to my Heart.  I love the contrast of the bright blue and yellow.
The banner I cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  The center area and blue strip I used my new Anna Griffin Cuttlebug embossing folders.  I love them, I know they came out a little while ago but I just got them.  I also cut the label using Art Philosophy and stamped it with a Gina K stamp.

Thanks you so much for taking the time to stop by and I would love read your comments.

All the papers on this card are from the Clementine pack and the cuts are made using Art Philosophy.  The flower is a canvas sticker from the Clementine Canvas Shapes pack.

Well thanks for stopping by and hope you like my card.  I will try and get another post up in the next couple of days

A Window Card

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous day!
I have to say I totally scraplifted this card from Kimberley at
If you have never visited her blog you may want to go check it out, she does amazing work and always shares instructions.
I think it came out so pretty.  I cut the base card using Cricut Craft Room just as Kimberley explained.  Then using Art Philosophy I cut the scalloped circle to go around the window.  I used a piece of the clear clamshell that the Cricut cartridges come in for the window.  The Cricut will cut this acetate but you will have to do multi-cut 2 because it is pretty heavy.
The label where the happy birthday is stamped is a two piece Spellbinder label, I love the fancy edges that it has.  I added a couple of pearl brads to the ends.
The flowers are Jolee stickers, and I like the transparent look to them for being on the window.
This is what the window looks like from the inside, I placed a couple flowers on the inside to cover the glue dot.  There was only one butterfly in the pack so I didn't have an extra to do the same there.
For now the inside is totally blank until I can figure out how I want to finish it.
Thanks for stopping by I hope you like my version of Kimberley's card.

Flirty Paper Birthday

Hi everyone, I have a bright flower card to share with you today.
This card was made using the papers in the new CTMH Flirty Paper Pack,
plus it follows a sketch challenge I am hosting this week on the Cricut message board.  We would love to have you join us click HERE to check it out you have till Tuesday 10/2 to play along.
I love the colors in this paper, and of course I like anything that has flowers on it.
The goldrush border was also cut using Artiste cartridge, then I stamped the happy birthday one word at a time.  Both words are on the same stamp, it is one that comes in the Art Philosophy bundle, but I bent the word I didn't want around the edge of the acrylic block and inked the word I wanted to stamp.  Hope this makes sense ha ha.

The flower and leaves are cut using the CTMH Artiste cartridge, I cut it out of the Flirty Raspberry colored paper that comes in the pack, then spritzed it with some Glimmer Mist to give it a bit of glimmer.   I also used my embossing tool to add some lines to the leaves to give them some dimension.   The center of the flower is a pearl brad.
There is also a set of  CTMH stamps Love Blooms that match this paper, I think they will be on my next order.
It is a two step stamp set so you can make your flowers look like they are layered, or to put the dimension on them with a different color.

Thanks for stopping by today, I always enjoy reading your comments.

No Spring Chicken.

Hi everyone thanks for stopping by.
I am so excited to share this card with you today, I think it came out so cute.
A while ago a bought this set of stamps from Mark's Finest I just had to have it as the sayings were funny and I kind of like chickens.
I printed the red checked paper using my Imagine and the Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  I kind of had to settle for this, I spent hours going through my huge paper stash and could you believe I did not have one piece of paper with a chicken on it!
On a recent shopping trip :) I picked up this Cuttlebug folder that is chicken wire so that worked out perfect even better than chicken paper I think.  I took a piece of the clam shell packing from a Cricut cartridge and ran it through the Cuttlebug, then I rubbed silver ink over the embossed plastic but it did not dry too well on the plastic, but that's OK you can still see the embossing against the white background.  I stamped the two chickens on the white paper before I put down the chicken wire.
Here is a closer look at the chickens and the embossed plastic.  The piece of barbed wire border I cut using the Old West cartridge, then added some score lines.

Now in order to get the full effect of this you need to see the inside stamp.
Isn't that cute?  I hope the recipient doesn't get offended, I don't think so she has a pretty good sense of humor.

Well thanks for stopping by and I always love to read you comments and appreciate each one of them.

Sending you Birthday Wishes

Hi, I am so glad you stopped by my blog today.
I have a simple birthday card to share with you today using the papers from the Florentine Paper pack, love the papers in this pack and the color palette.
The borders and the flowers are from the Florentine coordinating sticker pack
My Stickease Florentine. CTMH stickease stickers make it very easy to embellish your project.  The flowers I added a plastic round sticker called rain drops that I got off a clearance rack a long time ago.
The swirl I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge, from one of the papers in the Florentine Pack, then covered it with Liquid Glass.
I stamped the sentiment using one of the stamps in the Card Chatter - Birthday set, this is a great set to have if you make birthday cards.
The inside I finished off very simply by using some more of the stickers and the stamp that goes with the one from the front of the card.  The Card Chatter - Birthday set gives you sentiments for both the outside and inside of your card.
I hope you like my card and am inspired by it, CTMH paper packs and stickease make it so easy to put a card together.

Don't forget you still have time to get in one the great deal for National Stamping Month, with any $35 or more order you get this double stamp set for just $5.  Also if your order is $50 or more you can get this cute Stamp of the month set.

I am also running a special that you still have time to get in on, till September 30th if you order either the Art Philosophy cartridge or the Artiste cartridge from my CTMH website HERE, I will send you a FREE one C size stamp set of your choice and a $9.95 paper pack of your choice.  Just email me with your choices after you place the order.  Both of these are fabulous cartridges and each comes with 3 coordinating stamp sets and chipboard cuts that match the stamps.

Maine is Amazing!

If you read my blog regularly you know that I just got back from a trip to Maine and New Hampshire to see my grandsons in the Navy.  One is stationed in Portsmouth, NH while his submarine is in dry dock being updated/repaired.  He is married and has a 19 month old daughter Emma, our great-granddaughter. The other is in Groton, CT attending his submarine training school.
Our trip was perfect and one of the things that made it so fabulous was the vacation home we rented for the week.  It was nice to have that house to just relax and hang out and visit with the kids.  Miss Emma loved it and got to run around outside in the yard, I will share more of our vacation pictures later.
Here is the night we first got there and we gave her the little mini-album I made for her.

Now back to the card I have to share with you today.  I was so happy with the agency that rented us the house and the house itself I wanted to send them a thank you card.
I had bought this K&Company paper a while knowing that we would be going to the East coast and loved the patterns in the pack.  The banner is cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and so are the letter for the word Maine.  I liked this banner cut because it already had the holes in the top to string the cord through.
The label is a Spellbinder and stamped with one of the CTMH stamp of the month sets, I believe it may have been the May set.
The starfish is a K&Company sticker that matches the paper pack.
I did the inside simply so that I could write a note and tell them how much we enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope to get a post up soon with some pictures of our trip.

A day filled with Love

Hello everyone, we are back from our vacation visiting the grandkids on the East coast.  It was awesome, we had such a great time, will write up a post about it with pictures when I get them all into the computer.

I have a card to share with you that I made before we left but did not have time to set up a post.
I think it came out so pretty, all the papers are I used are from CTMH Roxie paper pack.  I love love the plaid paper and the colors in it, unfortunately this paper pack has been discontinued.
The heart was cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge, then stamped using of the stamps from one of the sets that comes with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The sentiment is also in that same set of stamps.
I tied a metal heart charm to a piece of ribbon and hung it across the bottom of the card.  Just a rather simple card I thought I would share with you today.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog, I love to read your comments and if you like what you see on my blog I would love to have you as a follower.

My First Mini Album

Hi, I am so excited to share this with you.  Over a year ago I bought a Cinch because I wanted to start making some mini albums.  I love some of the awesome ones out there and since our great-granddaughter was born in 2011 I thought it would be perfect to make a mini-album for her.
I am so pleased with how this came out for my first try.

It is only 4 pages, one page for each letter in her name.  Her name is actually Emma Olivia and we call her Emma O' so my hubby thought that I should add an "O" page, but I will do that on another one later.   Gives me an excuse to make her another one.

I started out by welding each letter of her name to a rectangle in Cricut Craft Room and using the letters from Storybook cartridge.  I cut each piece from chipboard, with each page getting a bit longer as her name spelled out.  The whole book measures about 4 inches by 9 inches.
Using papers from DCWV Nana's Kids Girl stack I cut the front and back out of each page, then a letter out of a coordinating piece of paper.  Lot of the papers have glitter on them.  Each letter on the front of the pages I covered with CTMH Liquid Glass, you can see it better here on the "E".

The butterfly is a sticker and the flower I made using the CTMH Artiste cartridge. I need to tweak my ribbon ties a little to make them more even.

This is opened to the first page, I put a small frame here and embellished it with some flowers from the Bitty Buds assortment.

Here is flipped to the next page.  I found these cute sparkly stickers with an arrow to point to the next frame which was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  All the frames are cut from white chipboard then mounted with foam tape leaving one side open to insert a photo.

This is the back side of the first M.  The "love this smile" are rub-ons from the CTMH Lucy papers.  This frame was cut using the Artiste cartridge, then I added the brad flag to the top.

And here is the final page, this frame was also cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge, then I added some flower stickers that I have had around here forever.

Then finally the back of the book, I guess I should have added something here it looks so plain.  Maybe I will add another frame, we will see how much time I have.

There I just added some rub-ons to the back I think that looks better, instead of being so plain.

Tomorrow morning we are flying to New Hampshire to visit Emma so I want to take this book with me.  I can not wait to see them and I have never been to the east coast before so I am so looking forward to it.  It will be a family reunion of sorts as my Mom is also coming from Colorado so we will have 5 generations there.
Well thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my first mini-album.  I think I have a new love, I really enjoyed creating this and I can see many more in my future.

Brown & Blue Birthday

I created this card this week using papers from the CTMH Pemberley paper pack.    There are some great blues and browns in this pack to make male cards.
The left side are buttons cuts from the Artiste cartridge, that I cut four times each and then glued them on top of each other and covered with Liquid Glass to make them look more like a real button.  I knew that Art Philosophy had a branch/leave cut that matched the background paper so I cut the branch using AP.
The happy birthday is cut using Artiste, that is one of the things I really love about this cartridge it even has some sentiments and being a card maker they come in handy or can add the perfect touch to your cards.

I always like to make some male cards to have on hand because times they are just hard too do.  Well thanks for stopping by my blog, leave me a comment I love to read them.

For the month of August I am running a special, if you order the Artiste cartridge or the Art Philosophy cartridge through my CTMH website I will send you one C-size stamp set of your choice and one $9.95 paper pack.  Click HERE to go to my website.  Just shoot be an email with your choices after you place your order.  Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed with this cartridge, I am just beginning to explore it and there is so much more, nor would you be with Art Philosophy.

Fabulous Poppies

Actually they are giant flowers turned mini!  Hi, I have a card to share with you today that I created following the sketch challenge this week at the Cricut Circle Blog. The rules are to follow the sketch and use at least two Cricut cuts.  I used 5 different cuts and that is only counting both flowers as one, so I think I am good there.  The prize is $25 in credit at Cricut.com
I am so happy with how this turned out not to mention that Poppies are my favorite flowers.  The poppies are cut using the Giant Flowers Cricut cartridge, but I cut them small, one at 1.25 inch and the smaller one about 3/4 inch.  Now those are the sizes of the pieces the actual flowers when put together are approx 2.25 and 1.25.  First you  cut out the petals, then there are these pieces that you have to fit the bottom of the petals into, I should have taken a picture, cutting the flowers this small makes those pieces pretty little but I got them put together with some teeny workings, ha ha, after all the cartridge is called Giant Flowers.

The center pieces are a bit different to work with but I think I got them put together correctly.  I added some MS glitter to the center just to give it some sparkle.
A bit more details on how I created the flowers, whenever I cut something out for the first time I cut it from plain white cardstock to make sure the size, cut etc is right.  So the larger poppy is cut from white paper that I colored with orange ColorBox ink after I had all the petal part assembled I sprayed it with Oriental Poppy Glimmer Mist.  The smaller poppy was cut from bright orange card stock, then sprayed with the glimmer mist, the smaller one is a bit deeper orange but amazingly close being that they were cut from way different papers.  The center of the flowers were both cut from white cardstock and inked to make them brown.
I did "rough" up the petals a bit with one of those thingies with the ball on the end, just kept rolling around on the petal till the paper (on a foam pad) soften up a bit and made it easier to shape

The green swirl I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge, the leaves are cut from MS Season Cake Art, I thought they were closest to a poppy leaf that I could find.  The striped green background paper is from a K&Company paper stack that I have had for a long time and then I used a corner punch which had been in my stash for a few years.  Using these "old" things makes this card eligible to enter in the challenge this week over at Oldie But Goodie where the theme is Flower Power
The scalloped circles and the ribbon/banner were cut also from Art Philosophy and I added a brad that I had which I thought matched the card well even though I think it may be a rose.
The ribbon across the front I found in the dollar bin at Michaels and it is actually what inspired this card.  The sentiment I stamped and heat embossed using a Mark's Finest stamp.

Well I am so glad you took the time to stop by, please let me know what you think of my card.

Wedding Card

Hi, I know it seems like ages since I have posted on my blog.  It has been one of those times when life has just been busy.  I have been creating, but just have not had the time to type up a post.
We had a wedding to go to yesterday so here is the wedding card I made.
I have had this background paper for many years and thought it was great to use on a wedding card.  I cut the heart out of pearl pink paper using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The sentiment is a Gina K stamp and the heart along side the sentiment are buttons.
I recently started making stick pins so I added a cross to this one and stuck it through a bow I made out of crinkled ribbon.   I love making them and I can easily see how this may become an addiction.
Well thanks for taking to the time to peak in on my blog, I would love to hear what you think of this card.

What is that flower made from?

well, let me tell you how I made this flower.  Oh wait let me show it to you first and see if you can guess before I tell you.
I created this card following a sketch on the Cricut message board this week.  Hard to see in this picture but the dark pink and the white are both pearl papers and the shapes I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The happy birthday and flowers are Dazzles.
OK, did you figure it out?  I am sure some of you did because this was not my idea, I learned it from my favorite place for new ideas and tutorials Splitcoast Stampers.  If you have never been there is is well worth checking it out, just click on the resources button at the top of the page for all the different tutorials.  I get a newsletter (email) from them each week and one week it had this tutorial in it to make flowers from used Dryer Sheets, cool huh, it almost looks like lace?  Click HERE to see for yourself, mine is a bit different as I scrunched the "petals" up to give them a more curly look.  I rimmed the edges with Viva Decor Glitter liner.
Well I hope you enjoyed my card and I would love to hear what you think, leave me a comment :).

Card Pattern Sketch Card

Hi, I have a card to share with you today that I created following the sketch this week at Card Pattern Sketch blog.  If you know me you know I love to follows sketches, this was a pretty simple one and went together fairly fast for me.
Of course using the papers in Florentine Workshop helped speed up the process since I have such a hard time picking out papers.  That is what I love about the CTMH paper packs it takes the guess work out of what goes together, LOL.  I found these buttons in my stash that matched the upper piece perfectly.  I cut the top scalloped circle using the Art Philosophy cartridge and then Cuttlebugged it.  The "thank you" is stamped using one of the stamps from the 4 My Friend CTMH stamp set, then I stamped the border along the top and the bottom of the front panel with a stamp that come in the Florentine Workshop, I think it added just the right amount of trim so the center piece did not look so plain.
I did the inside very simply to match the front and left a blank space to write a note on.
I am so glad you stopped by, I hope you enjoyed my card.  I would love to hear what you think.

May this be.........

....your Grandest year yet!  I made this "wild" themed card using the Roxie papers from CTMH and stamped the saying using a stamp from the Hooray Bouquet stamp set.

I stamped the saying on a cut out I made using the Art Philosophy cartridge, then using my iTop brad maker I made brads our of the Zebra paper to add to the sides of the ovals.  I love the look of the top paper, it has a weaved look to it.  I added a glittery flower branch from a K & Company pack of stickers.
What is nice about the Hooray Bouquet stamp set is that it has several flower stamps the work with cuts on the Art Philosophy cartridge.
See that red out line around the flowers, that indicates that there is a corresponding cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge.  There are quite a few stamps sets that match to Art Philosophy cuts.

I also wanted to let you know about the special this month at Close to my Heart, it is our STAMPAGANZA month, that means for every 2 sets of stamps you buy you will get one set of equal or lesser value for free, yes FREE.  There is no limit, you can order 6 sets(pay for 4) get 2 free, 9 sets(pay for 6) get 3 free etc etc...   If you have never used CTMH stamps they are the best acrylic stamps out there, they always leave a crisp clean impression.  Don't forget while you are shopping for those stamps to look through the Autumn/Winter 2011 catalog as they qualify too.  Plus order $50 or more and you can get the stamp of the month for just $5 and it's a cute one.

Hip hip hooray birthday

Hi everyone sorry I have not posted in a while, we were out of town for a few days.  Well I wanted to share this card with you that I made using the CTMH Dotty for You papers that is on special till May 31st.  You can get the paper pack for just $5 with any $35 dollar order,  plus if your order if $50 or more you can also get this months fabulous stamp of the month Friendship Bouquet for $5.
I love the old fashioned bike on this paper.  I cut the square just so the bike would show in the square, I used my Tim Holtz distressing tool to distress the edges around the square.  I stamped the Hip hip hooray with a stamp from the stamp set Card Chatter-birthday .  I don't know about you but I am always on the hunt for birthday stamps and this set has a nice variety that can be used together for both outside and inside the card.
I cut the label with the CTMh Art Philosophy cartridge, using Cricut Craft Room so I cut make one slightly bigger and make a shadow layer, I did a little faux stitching around the edges.  And I was so excited when I found this bike brad in my stash.  It matched perfectly.

Well I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog and take a peak at my card.  Remember you still have a few days to take advantage of the Dotty for You special for just $5 but even better join my team as a CTMH consultant and you will get it for free.  They are a great company and how fun to get involved with products that you love.    I would love to have you join up just check out all the details HERE, even if you are your own best customer it is well worth it.

Believe in Yourself

Hi as you all know I am really enjoying my CTMH products.  The Workshop on the Go Kits are wonderful they make it so easy to put a card together because all the papers coordinate so well. You should click on HERE and check them out, they have some fabulous themes.   I recently got the Florentine Workshop , so I created this card using the papers from this kit.
It is a pretty simple style that I saw in the May 2012 issue of the Cricut Magazine.  The flower and stem were cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge,  I cut the flower three times and sprayed them with water and crumpled them up.  I had some Lost & Found brads that I got from Peachy Cheap last week and there was one that matched the flower perfectly.  How lucky is that!  Each day Peachy Cheap comes out with a new deal so check them out.
The "Believe in Yourself" is a stamp that came with the Florentine Workshop.  I never would have thought to stamp it sideways like that till I seen the idea in the Cricut Magazine.  I also cut the stem/leaves out twice and marked the the leaves with lines.
I just found this challenge today Die Cut Divas and this week their challenge was to use flowers so I will enter this card there.  But I will have to check back tomorrow as their challenges come out each Wednesday, so I am sneaking this one in just under the wire.
Thank you so much for stopping by, leave me a little comment so that I know you were here, I love reading them.

If you were a Lizard

Hi, today I have a cute card to share with you that kind of has a southwestern theme to it.  I think the colors fit the southwest and of course the lizard.  We live with nothing but desert right out our back door and we have plenty lizards running around amongst other creators even a Gila Monster.  So following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday I created this card, I love play along at Mojo Monday when I can.
My lizard is a little fancier as the ones I see out back, he is a Stampin Up stamp that I heat embossed then cut out and added some bling down his back.
Here is a closer look at the lizard.

The papers are from the Mi Casa DCWV stack.  The circle and the ribbon/banner cuts are from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The word bubble is from the Cricut Craft Room basic shapes that is there when you open Craft Room.
I also Cuttlebugged the ribbon/banner with a folder from the Boy's Will be Boys folder set with just the lizard part of the folder.  The white part was Cuttlebugged with a skin type folder.
Now to make this all make a long more sense here is the inside of the card.
I love to use this stamp with my lizard stamp.  Now I just have to find the right person to give this card too.
Thanks for stopping in and why not check out Mojo Monday and give the sketch a try.

Sweet as a Strawberry

I created this card for our great-granddaughter who turns 5 at the year of the month.  I love the bright cheery way it came out.  I loved it for this time of year when strawberries are in season and everyone is beginning there gardens.
The strawberry paper on the bottom is from DCWV Nana's Nursery stack and then Cuttlebugged the top using the dots folder.  I just happen to have the strawberry ribbon that went along with the theme.  This a a half fold card (5 q/w x 8 1/2) so I cut the strawberry at 2 1/2 inches using the Preserve cartridge.  I have to admit that I have had this cartridge for quite a while and this is the first time I used it.  I picked this from all the other strawberry cuts because I liked the little flower that is one it.  Lots of sparkle on this card, the strawberry is all cut from glitter paper, then I ran it through the Cuttlebug using swiss dots then dotted each whole with a silver Sakura gel pen.
I used some clear Viva Decor for the center of the flower to it give some dimension.  The inverted scalloped circle I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge, also from glitter paper and then cut a plain circle to lay on top.  The sentiment is a Sweet & Sassy stamp and thought it went well with the strawberry, I added a flower brad to the top.
I cut a smaller strawberry for the inside and then stamped a Stampers Best sentiment.
Thanks for stopping to take a peak at my card today, I would love for you to leave a comment, I love reading them.
I will also be entering this is the Cricut Circle challenge something old something new.  New cartridge Art Philosophy old cartridge Preserves
