Thanks a Melon

Here is a cute Summery card I made to share with you.  With the 4th of July coming, I think we think of watermelon more often now than any other time of year.
I love the way this card came out cute and it was so simple after I decided on what papers I wanted to use.

I cut the watermelon and cantaloupe from the Preserves cartridge.  I layered the pieces then I used Glossy Accents on the watermelon and Crackle Accents on the cantaloupe.
The Crackle Accents made the cantaloupe look much better, it was so plain before.
The saying was cut from the Just Because Cards cartridge, I used my white gel pen to add the little dots, something I often forget to do and I love the way it looks.   I tied some bakers twine around the four sides and tied a bow in the middle.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you all are enjoying spending time with your families, Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddys out there.

Cute as a Bug

I have a cute simple quick card for you today.  The Just Because Cards cartridge makes these cards very easy, as it has the image and the saying cut.
I mounted my ladybug and yellow checked paper and added the saying which I dotted with my white gel pen.  I also covered the red part of the ladybug with Diamond Glaze and added googlie eyes.  That's it!!   Couldn't be any simpler.

Thanks for stopping in to take a peak at my blog today, hope to see you back soon.

Bold & Bright Card

Hi, hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  I love working with these colors so when I saw the ad color challenge to use yellow, black & white together I knew I had to make a card.  It was also made following a sketch.
The circle I cut using my Cricut George cartridge, this is the cartridge that came in the very first Cricut and it seems like I go to it more often than any other cartridge.
I put a variety of different buttons in the center of the 3 circle and then tied some twine into bows.  I had ordered the twine several months ago and I sure don't use it often enough, I like the way it looks especially with buttons.  I had a tough time deciding what sentiment to put on this card and then I found the "bee happy" on Just Because cards cartridge, I wish I would have found it first because I think I would have put a bee in place of one of the buttons, I guess I could still put one off to the side?
I even completed the inside of this one very simply and left space for a hand written message.

After typing up this post I went back and I did add that little bee, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by, I would love to read your comments. :)

Fancy Scarecrow--------

First a question since I am fairly new at blogging and think about this every time I post, should I post the picture of my card first then give the details or give the details first then post the card.  Please let me know what you prefer.

About two weeks ago I bought my first Lite cartridge from Wal-Mart, I got Celebrate With Floursih............I really like the images and greetings on this cartridge, it is a good all around or should I say year around cartridge.  It pretty much has all the holidays covered and other greetings also.
So when I wanted to do a couple challenges this week that were to follow a FALL theme decided I would trying this cartridge and use the Scarecrow cut.
This card was made following the sketch and theme of the challenge at Jitterbuggin this week.  It also falls into the Fall theme at Sugar Sweet Paper Treats This is my first time participating in both of these challenges and hope to do more in the future.
The card is 5 by 6 1/2 inches as most of my cards are as I buy the packages of 50 cards and envelopes from Micheal's and use those as my card base.   The scarecrow, I cut at 3 inches.  I tried to cut him using Design Studio but it would not recognize the cartridge, I did some updates by have not tried it again yet, had to cut it the old fashioned way directly from my Expression.  I know there had been a problem with it but not sure if it has been resolved.   I inked the scarecrow up using Versamark pad and then heat embossed with thick clear embossing powder, I guess he came out OK, I was trying to gicivng him a lttle dimension and glow???  Then I got carried away with the heat embossing, LOL I cut the leaves from A Child's Year out of brown, orange and green, inked up the edges to give them some highlights then I embossed them with clear embossing powder, I am real happy with how the leaves turned out.  The 3 leaves in the left hand corner I pop dotted a couple of them.  The pumpkin is a clear epoxy type sticker that  bought last year.  The background plaid paper is from DCWV Autumn stack.  "My Heart Give Thanks" is a stamp then I mounted it on an orange piece of paper and added brads to the sides.
The frame I made in Design Studio using Just Because Cards and Storybook.

This might fit into the challenge this week at Paper Cutz Challenge where you were suppose to use a critter on your project, does a scarecrow count as a critter, let me know I guess that is kind of boarder line. :)

Here is a close up of the leaves, the small one I added a touch of dark purple to try and replicate so of the beautiful Fall colors
Thanks for stopping by, would love to hear what you have to say.
