Much to be Grateful For

Hi, it is that time of year when the temperatures start to
fall (hopefully soon here is AZ) and we begin to look
at all that, we are thankful or grateful for.

So using some of the stamps from the Stamp of Approval
"Counting Blessing Collection" I put together this Fall card.
The SOA box came with all kinds of Fall goodies.  I stamped
the background on cream colored paper using Distress Oxides and
a combination of the leaf stamps that were of the stamp sets.
Then using the leaf dies that were in the box I cut out some leaves in
coordinating colors.  Even the tan stitched strip across the front of the
card came in the box.  I distressed the edges of a piece of
tan cardstock and then stamped it with the grateful stamp.
I think all the colors worked together well and remind me of
the colors the leaves change to in the Fall.

Thank you for stopping to take a peek at my card.

Give Thanks...........Fall Card

I created this card following a sketch from the Jitterbuggin Challenge you also had to  use a pumpkin somewhere on your card.  As long as it had to have a pumpkin I thought I would make it a Fall card because that was the theme over at the Cuttlebug Spot.  Since this card is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card it was rather hard to use the Cuttlebug so I added Tim Holtz Crackle Accents to give the pumpkin some texture.
It is hard to see but the background paper is has some sparkle to it because I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Bronze spray., the leaf print paper is from DCWV Autumn Stack.  The light or off white paper is very pretty in person as it has gold flecks in it.  I inked the edges with a very dark purple ink to add an extra fall color to the card.  I cornered punched the pumpkin colored paper with a Fiskars corner punch and slipped the white paper under the punched corner.
The pumpkin and the "give" are cut from the Thanksgiving cartridge, and the "thanks is from Beyond Birthdays, that was the only vertical word I could think of, but all and all I think it worked well together.
Here you can see the crackling on the pimpkin and those gold flecks in the paper.
Well thanks for stopping by my blog and hope you like this Fall card.  I love to here your comments.

The Leaves are Falling....................

.........well not in Arizona we are still very close to 100 degrees!  I made this card following one of the sketches on RAQs Challenge on the Cricut message board this week.  Well I kind followed it but I also made this card for the weekly challenge at Crafy Creations  where the theme was to do something with falling leaves.  My leaves and my bare tree are out of proportion but it works.  The leaves and acorns are epoxy like stickers that I bought at Wal-Mart last year.  The ovals I cut using my Nesties and then stamped the "celebrate" and heat embossed it with a very deep dark purple.  The swirls on the bottom (hiding behind the leaves) are from Home Decor.
Now on to my tree it was cut at about 4 inches from Tim Holtz Grunge Board, this was my first time cutting or just plain working with it. Kind of hard to see but here it is on my mat.  I had to use my deep cutting blade at the maximum depth and pressure.  I cut the tree using the Make the Cut  software.  I also had to cut it 4 times, but then it came up pretty easy except that I had just re-glued my mat so it was extra sticky, I didn't want it to move, never working with it before I was not sure how it would stick and cut.  Luckily the grunge board is pretty flexible or pliable so it did not tear coming off the extra sticky mat.
Then I inked it using the Distressed Ink Walnut Stain and just rubbed the ink pad directly onto the tree.
Looks pretty neat huh?  See the dark little "knot" I added LOL.......
Then time to put it all together.  The papers are from DCWV Autumn Stack, some very colorful pretty papers in this stack, I just feel bad that I covered most of the leaves on the back paper, but I did cut a frame from that leaf paper for the inside of the card.  I am making an effort to complete the insides of my card  :).  Added some bling ere and there to get that extra sparkle in there.
Hope you like this card and have a fabulous Fall, can't wait for the cooler weather to show up here...................
