Some more catching up

Hi, hope everyone is having a great weekend.

I am going to post a few various cards that I have

been working on lately.

Here is a thank you card that opens into a step-card

instead of the plain old center.

The center is a Stampin Up stamp.

and here is the inside.

I love the way the starburst card looks but sometimes they are a bit difficult to get right.  The papers are K&Company papers.

Here is a cute animal shaped card from the Create a Critter cartridge.  I covered part of his body with Fun Flock for more dimension.

And one last one, a diamond fold card.

The turtle image is from NitWits, that I uploaded and cut with my Explore.

A Big Birthday Smile

I am so happy to be back and blogging a little more regularly, I am trying.

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for one of my great-grandsons that will turn 4 in November.

I used Create a Critter to cut out the dinosaur and palm tree.  I embossed the dinosaur and then the background with a cloud embossing folder. Then just for fun I added the googlie eyes.  I thought it fit perfect with the sentiment, but I can't remember whose stamp it was.

My First Explosion Box..............

So sorry I have not been around for the last couple of weeks, but with family visiting, re-arranging my craft room and going out of town craft just did not fit in.

I made this explosion box for my Great Granddaughter's 1st birthday.  I think it came out very cute.  I had seen one that someone did around Christmas time and have wanted to try it since, so I thought it would be perfect for this special event.  Even a little prize of a light up happy birthday in the center.  Lots of sparkle on this one.  Here is an overview of the whole card, so hard to take a picture of this.

The inner pink layer is Core'dinations card stock that I Cuttlebugged with several different folders and sanded it off, then punched the corners with a MS punch.  I used Cricut Craft Room to weld the letters together for the "Emma" using Lyrical Letters cartridge.  The "1" is also from that same cartridge.  They are cut out of purple glitter paper and mounted on white glitter paper ovals I cut using my Spellbinders.  Here is a closer look at the Emma.

I used the Create a Critter cartridge to cut out the monkey again all from glitter paper.  I added googly eyes, a party hat and one of those party blower thingies.

The center "Happy Birthday" is a K & Company stick that has a button that you press and lights flash on it.  Tried to get a picture but hard to capture the flashing lights.

When you fold up all the sides you place a lid on it to hold it together, so here is a picture with the lid next to the card.

I will tie if closed with a white sparkly ribbon/bow.  On the MS Birthday cake cartridge there was a cut for baby's first birthday so I cut it out and glued it to the top of the lid with a couple cupcake stickers.  I got to thinking since it doesn't lay flat it might be kind of hard to keep as a memento.  Oops.

Birthday Party Hat & Balloons

This card is very bright and shinny.  I made it following a sketch (of course).

The card is 6 1/2 by 5 inches,  The party hat and balloons are cut from the Celebrations cartridge.  The cuts were cut from glitter paper, the balloons I ran through the Cuttlebug with 3 different folders, then covered each with Diamond Glaze, pretty neat because the glitter shows through the Diamond Glaze.  I also covered the hat with Diamond Glaze and then added some bling to it.
I cut the "happy birthday" using the Create a Critter from the same glitter paper.
I glued it to the white square and then put matching brads on the corners.  Then I forgot that I wanted to run it through the Cuttlebug, so I thought well what the heck I will still run it through, so it embossed the happy birthday AND it also smashed the brads and left the embossing pattern on them.  That is how much pressure out little Cuttlebug's can put on things.  You can see it better in this picture.

I tied some cord around the bottom of the balloons then mounted them with different heights of pop dots.

That's a' Pasta Dinner

I love to cook and have an Italian background.  Now my Mom comes to spend the winter with us and we love to be in the kitchen together.   Well Saturday is my son-in-laws birthday and we are making him an Italian dinner.

So we put together an "Italian dinner card".  The card is 5 x 7 so I cut the table from A Child's Year at 3 3/4 inches.  This table had a person standing on one side and another sitting on the other side.  I did not want the people at the table so using Design Studio I moved the table as far to the upper left hand corner as I could so that the person standing would not cut out.  Then I took a square and placed it over the sitting person and welded it, that way the sitting person was inside the square and did not cut.  I cut it twice from plain white cardstock and I colored the legs with ink to make them look like wood.   I turned the table over and outlined the "table cloth" area from a checked piece of paper from DCWV Farmers stack cut it out and glued it on the front.  The two layers are pop dotted on the card, well one layer was glued directly onto the card and the other was pop dotted on top.  The background paper is from DCWV Green stack, I thought it looked like wallpaper with the brown on the bottom being the floor.

The plate of pasta(noodles as we called them growing up, pasta is a new thing LOL) and the glass of wine are epoxy stickers from K & Company.  The happy birthday is cut from Create a Critter out of glitter red & green paper to match the Italian flag and I added a small red star to dot the "i".
Here is the inside, I thought the saying was appropriate for the card.

Now the little doggie, isn't he the cutest little thing?  He was cut at 1 1/4 inches from Create a Critter.  His face is a golden pearl like paper, I covered the body with Stampendous Fun Flock.  I added the gogglie eyes and a brown pearl nose.  He is so furry and cute!  The reason that I put this dog at the bottom of the table is because my daughter & son-in-law have two Yorkies.

Create a Critter ladybug

I made this card a while back for my Great-Granddaughters 3rd birthday.  It was my first card using Create a Critter and I just love this cartridge.  This card is a 5 x 5 square card, the green circle frame is pop dotted for dimension.  The papers are from DCWV Nana's Kids stack, perfect for "Nana Donna" to give one of her grandkids LOL.
